joosje Oh, they bother me plenty! When I'm done playing this, my left hand is in pain. Moyses said that Barrios had unusually large hands, so pieces like this were probably not very hard for him to play. The rest of us ... ouch!

Eric Phillips that was great Eric! Everyone should have a 635mm classical guitar scale at hand dedicated to Barrios music

Eric Phillips Wonderful Eric. I once toyed with the idea of learning this - I changed my mind after about 2 bars! You're doing very well!

Eric Phillips Great job! It sounded sweet and beautiful already.
Found an interesting article from a very old Taiwanese guitar magazine. It told the story that Barrios was invited by Sergovia to perform in Europe in 1935, Barrios had high hope for the trip and thought that eventually, he would have a chance to go and perform in Japan. However, the story didn't end well, and he dedicate this piece of music to Japan to express his disappointment of not being able to go to Japan.
Well, the article was translated from another old Japanese guitar magazine and was a fourth-hand story (it claimed that it was told by one of the Barrios students, Mr. Benites, who heard it from another student of Barrios), the source of the story I think was quite skeptical, so read it with a big grain of salt. (Hope you understand what I wrote, it was difficult for me to write all these in English)

Wai I do understand your English perfectly. Thank you for passing that along. Even if it's not completely accurate, it at least gives us something to go with. Much appreciated!

Eric Phillips Great Job Eric. For a while I played through the first 6 every morning but that was the one that I usually struggled with (never really got them to performance level!)

Eric Phillips Wow, you played all the Estudios Sencillos perfectly, did you also play the Nuevos Estudios Sencillos? (and I also prefer using your music to clear my ears )

Wai Thank you, Wai. I have not played any of the new ones yet (#11-20?). I would like to change the names of these to "Estudios Dificiles" and "Estudios Aun Mas Dificiles" (sorry for not putting accents in my Spanish words)/

Hats off to everyone who has posted videos this week some great stuff - not had chance to comment on it all but well done.
After another busy week I've found a bit of time for another video - La Gatica by Lauro. A few hesitations but I didn't have time for another 17 takes (this was the 3rd attempt). I'll keep plugging away at it.
I've also been working on Valse Venezuela No 2 and a couple of preludes by Ponce. Hope to post these on Wednesday. I'm also busy learning a couple of pieces by Dowland to perform next week but that's another story - @martin how about a Dowland/Renaissance challenge

Eric Phillips I love Dowland, my father used to play while my mother sang out of the first book of aires- I tried over years to do both at once.... could refresh that again, but Im so old now, my voice is so out of order...but I love the songs so much
