Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to explore the iconic musical culture of Latin Americain our month of "Music from Latin America" and YOU get to share your most beloved pieces from the continent of Barrios, Lauro, Baden Powell, Piazolla and many, MANY more!

Into which pieces or composers are you going to dive in?

I love to play peaces out of that culture, spent a lot of time with the wonderful arrangements Gary Ryan made for students 13 tangos /Piazzola. In Germany there are two arrangers/Composers/ Guitarplayers, that have done a lot for people like me, that play for fun. It is Michael Langer with his two editions Saitenwege Südamerika and it is Ahmed El-Salamouny, who composes peaces for all levels for Brazilian Guitar. I worked a lot on it but I am slow. He has a forum for guitarplayers too, where you can find others interested in brazilian music. There too is a composer and musician, Jürgen Krumlehn, who brought some peaces for two guitars in Bossa-stylesome 20 years ago, so sad I never had someone who wanted to learn it.............

Can't make the kick off event, but really looking forward to the Latin America challenge and to hearing about some new music and composers and to sharing a little of my own journey through Latin America.

Just watched the recorded stream. Nice! Inspiring.
Referring to the point of Cuba & Mexico: Yes, that’s Central America and not South America, but definitely Latin America! I learned that from a Chilean friend, as I told him I had traveled to South America. He asked ‘Where? i said, ‘Mexico’. ‘That’s not South America! It’s Central America!’. But then, the Latin is what they have in common…. And rhythm & music in its diversity of styles, modes and colors.
