in the last 2,5 years I played mostly peaces of brazilian composers or Piazzolaarrangements or modern compositions like Ahmeds. It happened because I tried to learn guitar after a two decade break again and by accident I had always such peaces...my teacher gave me or I had a workshop...and it was that stuff... I want to make some videos of several Piazzolaarrangemens if I can make it, because I have to work a lot this month....but I`ll try.

Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz so beautiful!!! As Eric Phillips I have never played any pieces by Piazolla which is kind of unbelievable. My guitar was actually built for Roberto Aussel to whom Piazolla's Five Pieces were dedicated and written for.

Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz Brava! You play so nice, thank you! Piazzolla is one of my favorite composers, I was introduced to his music by listening to an LP, one side with Piazzolla and another side with Susana Rinaldi. Gosh... I have no idea how many times I listened to these pieces. Thank you again!

Moyses Lopes I had a cd with Vivaldi 4 Jahreszeiten und Piazzola 4 Jahreszeiten. But I fell in love with the music when I saw a concert in our city of a group namen "un tango más", they were incredible, so so sood. Later I had a Celloversion for Quartett and performed Oblivion- such a great peace!!! I love zhat peace. But I haven´t found a nice arrangement for guitar until yet- Roland Dyens worked on an arrangement short before he died, but thats anothet level, I cant play his arrangements now...I have an arrangement which does not really represent Oblivion to me, but I will try to record it in the following weeks.Today I have practised an other peace so long and can play so little..I.just work on;-), hoping to progress. Today I tried out an arrangement of Mumuki by Gary Ryan. Looks so easy but it is real work. I started with 40 beats and then worked up to 60, tomorrow I will repeat....Now I will google out Susanna Rinaldi, thank you for the clue!!!

Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz bravo! Gary Ryan seems to arrange Piazzolla in an interesting way. Hope to hear you play more out of this book over the month.

Martin Wow that's awesome! By any chance you also got Aussel's Firederich?
But I think you got a challenge for this month since your guitar was meant to play Piazzolla's Five Pieces!

Barrios - Prelude No 5 in E major
This piece is completely new to me. I found it on Edson Lopes' website (score attached below). I'm surprised it's not played more often. It's definitely easier than most of Barrios' music. In addition to being good music, I think it's a great exercise in slurs, arpeggios, shifting, and bass note damping.

Blaise Laflamme I’ve started it a few times, but I’ve never finished it. I remember it being harder than it sounds. Maybe I should be sure to get to it this challenge.

Eric Phillips this is a beautiful piece. It is not easier than other Barrios pieces at all. You are playing it so clean and beautifully! Nice damping of basses, good articulation. Bravo Eric!

Ariel Ramirez – Balada Para Martín Fierro
This is from a 1968 Argentinean film called Martín Fierro based on an epic poem by the same name. Fierro is a renegade gaucho, something like an Argentinean cowboy. I find this music to be quite sad and beautiful.
