This is where the magic happens - the thread where we'll all be posting our daily updates.

Every day between December 6th and 19th, we are hoping to read your daily updates in this very thread right here!

- One thing you found easy: The first bar was the hardest one for me to learn, although it looked easy enough on my first try.
- One thing you found difficult: I liked that it was a single line; it allowed me to focus on every note and it was much easier to read than most pieces I play.

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag no. 4
- One thing you found easy: The music was once again beautifully written for the landscape it was trying to conjure. Moreover, through the built-in registral differentiation of the two voices, achieving the hidden polyphony was really straightforward!
- One thing you found difficult: Once again, like in Landslag 1, we have several ascending arpeggios, yet once again, we are not able to perform any significant amount of right-hand preparation due to several notes that are required to ring on throughout the bar. This makes the right-hand technique required for this piece much more challenging than one might initially think!

I worked on Landslag 4 this morning, I love the harmonic motion of this piece. Sight-reading was just challenging enough for it to be very enjoyable to sight read. Some tricky rhythmic passages and fingerings involved

David Chidsey great job, David! Kudos for maintaining all the intrinsic polyphony throughout the whole piece! I enjoyed listening to it a lot.

I also worked on Landslag 5 this morning. I love the ethereal nature of this piece and the rhythm. I interpreted it very slowly as I wanted to play the correct notes, but I missed a few! Oh well haha it is very enjoyable

David Chidsey wonderful job, David! I really love the spatial, wide-open atmosphere you create in this! It is slow, but I think that's precisely what makes it work. Keep at it and don't worry about the wrong notes - we all got them

I had time so I was able to also work on Landslag 6 today. This was my favorite so far. I love the harmonic voicings and the counterpoint. This one wasn't as difficult to read as 4 and 5 were but it's more difficult technique. C minor on the guitar leads to difficult but fun voicings

David Chidsey fantastic job!!! So many Landslög in one day! I'm really impressed, David. I love this one too - I felt the implicit harmonic tensions and releases come through very clearly in your playing, you've internalized these relationships so well that they come through instinctively at this point! You have my congratulations.

Very little time today due to having no power for 6 hours! However I managed to grab 15 minutes on Landslag 3 - what a lovely piece. Sight reading and the fingering were easy but really balancing the voices to bring out the beauty of the piece is what I need to do a lot more work on!

Mircea Hi Mircea - I'm based in the UK - about 40 miles southwest of London. Yes we've been having problems whenever there is heavy rain. Hopefully it's all fixed now! Thank you, really enjoying all your performances of the Landslag

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag 2
- One thing you found easy: Understanding how to play the piece. I really enjoy playing this one, and seeing how full I can make the chords. With my coach I am working on pushing the strings into the soundhole for a full sound and this is perfect piece for practicing that.
- One thing you found difficult: Feeling sufficiently consistent in my playing of this piece to make and post a recording. I might not get much further into the set during the time of this challenge.

Martha Kreipke that's great, Martha! No pressure at all - just like I was writing in my initial "rules" thread - take as much time as you need on every Landslag. It's about practicing consistently, not about getting through x number of movements in a given time.
It's true though - sound production and color is such an important and complex topic on the guitar that one could spend 100 lifetimes working on it and not "get to the bottom of it". It's part of what makes music so beautiful; the impossibility of achieving full dominion over it. I'm happy to hear you have a coach you're working with! That's wonderful. Enjoy working towards that thick, projected tone - it actually happens to be one of my personal favorite things to practice!

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag 5
- One thing you found easy: As with all the pieces, the general mood and feeling unique but clear somehow. Perhaps it's my dreams of going to see and Icelandic landscape.
- One thing you found difficult: Not having the earworm "A ram sam sam, a ram sam sam..." every time I read the composers name. Seriously. That and remaining absolutely silent with the changes.
Here's a video of me playing it. It's far from perfect, but it's a start with the recording opportunities I've had. It's not easy to record round here without being disturbed.
I wanted to record something to get used to doing it a bit more and hear how the sound is. If you bother to listen, let me know how the sound quality is.
