I wish I had more time with this one to get it more secure. Sorry for the errors in this recording , but had time for only one take ( Life stuff getting in the way.). This is a nice study with cool "imitation" going on. Anyway, here is my status on it at this point.

Things you found easy: Watching everyone's wonderful videos.

Things you found difficult: Been working on #3 and #4 for 2 weeks, but it's still a bit beyond my level. My fingers won't do what my brain wants. Of the first 4, I like #4 the best but I need a few more weeks on that one. Life/work got in the way of my practice time this week but I wanted to record #3 since I worked so hard on it.

(Optional): a video of you performing it! I really wanted to play this at "con moto" tempo so I went for it even though it meant a few mistakes along the way. Despite how many hours I worked on 3 & 4 I never got tired of them. Such interesting studies!

  Brett Gilbert I loved that, Brett! Great tempo! Sure, there were a few mistakes, but believe me, they bother you way more than anyone else. I'm amazed at how fluid your left hand is looking. This one requires some very challenging fingering contortions that you handled so gracefully. Your hand moved like a spider (I mean that as a compliment). Good work!

  Eric Phillips Thanks Eric, that means a lot coming from you. I was just re-watching your study 9 video with all those harmonics. Just amazing and I think 9 is my favorite now. I'll continue to revisit these for months/years to come...

  Brett Good Job!! It is super important to get a sense for the tempo goal and see if all the fingerings work there as intended! As Eric Phillips mentioned, you're probably your worst critique when it comes to the details! But it has a good side: it will be helpful in the long run to have an objective ear for your own playing!

  Brett Gilbert impressive. You gave it a feel of energetic lightness I haven’t heard before. It just needs some more time to be fully controlled,, but in this short time you did a really great job.

Ok here's #10... my last submission for this challenge! It was by far the most difficult I've been working on out of the #1 to #6. I wanted to memorize it while slowly learning it and then once fingers were secured attempt to speed it up... I mostly succeeded the first but failed at the second... I would need another week to reach the speed it needs... Martin I challenged you, then I challenged myself 😅

  Blaise Laflamme absolutely fantastic!!! I'm just happy that I didn't remain the only mad lad to tackle that beast of a study! 🧙‍♂️
  Fantastic Job on bar 22-26, those cost me a loooot of time!! And the arpeggio's in that tempo only look intimidating from a distance, you fall into place rather well!
  
  I particularly enjoyed that you didn't try to play everything staccato, you applied some beautiful articulation in the opening bars!

  Blaise Laflamme So impressive, Blaise! Between this and #4, I think this challenge is the best I’ve heard you play (at least until the next challenge!). And it’s much more than just technical execution. Your musicality on those two pieces is outstanding.

  Martin thank you Martin, yeah I was crazy enough to tackle it 😂! You're right those bars 22-26 were hard to memorize and not make mistakes, I miserably failed the open E on bar 24 😭 but the other take I have where I get this passage right I failed at the scales 😱... then I had to make a choice! The arpeggio's alone are kind of manageable, while being intimidating, and at that tempo they are hard to connect from where you come to where you go. Playing staccato is a challenge in itself, I would have like more time to raise up the speed and better fix my musical ideas for this piece, but overall I think it can sound more flowing by articulating a bit differently.

  Blaise Laflamme Hey Blaise. What can I say-- this is so awesome! Amazing playing, musicality, and sound! I just started looking at looking at this piece (first read through), and I think you're right about the need for memorization to achieve something meaningful. You did an outstanding job on this. Thanks for posting it in time for "the Challenge".
