Brouwer - Estudios Sencillos Nos 9 and 10
Well, it's the last day, so I'll post these last two studies. I have not touched the new ones (#11-20) at all.
These last two estudios are more difficult than the previous eight, and my execution is not too clean. In number 9. doing those slurs while also making the adjacent string ring out is so difficult, especially at tempo. In number 10, I used rest stroke a lot, and my rest stroke is not too good.
It has been a pleasure learning and sharing some Latin American music with all of you. I'm afraid I will not be able to attend the Watch Party live, but I will watch it later. Many thanks to all of you who posted such great music, and offered me support and advice for my music.

Piazzolla Otono Porteno 1st half on the butcher block
I actually have no business sharing this but I felt I wanted to show what I have been struggling with over the last 2-3 weeks. I didn't think it would be this difficult - but - is it ever! I have only been able to play this far in something approaching coherency in the last couple of days.
I figure there needs to be balance for all the overachievers here - I'm looking at you Eric, Moyses, Dale, Derek, Jossje, .............
You guys need people like me to make you look good. So a little respect, if you please.

Jack Stewart I think this is great, Jack! The rhythm is so cool. You always choose such challenging works, so I don't think anyone would ever call you an underachiever (except yourself). In the end, all that matters is participating, enjoying, and growing. I very much appreciate your music, your insights, and your humor!
BTW, are you excited about playing lots of Romantic-era guitar music next month? I know it's your favorite musical period.

Jack Stewart For me is obvious that all you need is time. You have the duende (as the flamencos say) and a lot of "gana" (willing or desire) and that is what really counts. I really liked your execution, but I have looked at the score and I didn't find those words you said at the end of the piece... Maybe you have a secret version of the Otoño...

Moyses Lopes Thanks, Moyses. I think I have made enough progress on this to encourage me to keep going. It will take me quite a while but I find the piece fascinating.
