Welcome to tonebase!
Hey everyone - this is Igor from tonebase !
It's such a pleasure to welcome you as one of the founding members of the tonebase community. Please introduce yourself in a post below with the following format:
- Where are you from and what's your favorite food from there? ;)
- What are you currently working on?
- What are you hoping to get out of this community?
I'll go first:
- While it's hard to pinpoint where exactly I'm from, lol, I just go with Bavaria Germany, and as favorite food, I'd choose Beer (surprise, surprise - closely followed by "Schweinshaxe" - Bavarian Pork-knuckle, which is quite delicious, but sooo heavy that it feels weird calling it favorite food)
- Trying to keep my Aranjuez in the fingers, even though certainly don't have that much time to practice as during college days...
- I hope we can facilitate authentic and interesting discussions around playing, learning, teaching, performing the guitar as well as all adjacent topics like concert prep, professional development, auditioning etc...
Now over to you (after some participation from our tonebase team members!)

Hi everyone! I'm Cliff from North Bay Ontario, Canada. My favourite food (yes, we spell favourite that way in Canada Eh!) is anything I make in my collection of cast iron dutch ovens over a fire pit or charcoal. Some of the dutch ovens I cook in are over 200 years old and the food tastes great!
I am fairly new to classical guitar and I am currently working on my nerves! I seem to be scared to play in front of anyone or even a video camera! Weird, but I'm working on it.
I'm looking for inspiration, guidance and the hope of playing well enough to entertain my Grand-Children.... well, that's the dream I hope to learn from this amazing collection of great players and one day, maybe give back to someone who is willing to take on the challenge of classical guitar. Cheers from Canada.

Hi All,
Starting my 2nd year at TB. Really enjoying all the great content they are producing.
I am a longtime player of electric who has always dabbled in fingerstyle and have made a hard pivot to classical/flamenco a few years ago. I am a poor reader but intermediate level player with a lot of experience. -Brooke, Sac CA

Hello from Prague...
I'm from Czech Republic - country of very good beer but my favourite food is white and red wine. ;-)
I am only a beginner with classic guitar because I played many years electric guitar and I was making hard rock music or metal music. Now I want to learn all about the classic guitar and I hope that TB will be my great tutor on this way. I know that I'm going to enjoy it...

Hi my name is Joy. I'm from B.C. Canada. My favourite food would be buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup.
I'm currently working through my RCM book (scales and arpeggios) along with a few pieces.
I just kept seeing the Tonebase pop up here and there so I thought I would check it out. Been playing electric/acoustic guitar for years and just purchased my first classical guitar earlier this year and have not been able to put it down.

Hi Everyone. Excited to get back into classical guitar after MANY years.
- I'm from South Africa and my favorite food from here would have to be biltong.
- I'm currently trying to get back into classical guitar. I last played classical actively in 2013 with my third year in the instrument during my music degree.. So a lot of catching up to do!
- What I'm most hoping to get out of this community is direction. As it's been so many years I don't know where to even start! - So feel free to point me in any direction you think might be helpful ;)
Thanks!

Hello guys,
I live in Southern California and it shouldn't surprise anyone that my favorite food is tacos.
I've been playing classical guitar since college and been playing to myself the same tunes over and over again. Well I recently had an amazing guitar made for me by Alejandro Cervantes and I have been inspired to explore new horizons. Hence why I'm here. I am currently working on The Frog Galliard by John Dowland arranged by Scott Tennant.
What I'm most hoping to get out of this community is clarity and focus. At the moment, I'm so overwhelmed with all of the content on this site. I would really like to have a simple routine that I can do daily where it's not a total time buster but with consistent doable sessions I can improve my technique and song learning while at the same time build out my repertoire.
I am really teachable right now so any help would be most welcomed :)
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi everybody,
My name is Roberto and I'm from Venezuela. My favorite food is the pabellón criollo, a dish with shredded beef, plantain, rice and black beans. My favorite drink would be chicha, but not the andean version, which is sour and fermented, but the sweet version which is almost dessert.
Currently I'm working on Carcassi's Etude No.1 Op.60 and on Antonio Lauro's El Negrito. I also practice Tai Chi and am fascinated by the similarities it and Classical Guitar. Marco Tamayo's essential principles bear stunning resemblance to treatises by Tai Chi masters.
I'm happy to be with Tonebase for the variety of authentic, verified and high-quality information available on performance of high-level classical guitar. (By high-level I don't mean necessarily hard or difficult; it can be easy and exquisite). I also like the community it fosters.
Best wishes to you all :)
