Baroque Mini Challenge 
Hey fellow toneBuddies!! 
We will have an insightful live stream roundtable discussion featuring some of the most renowned experts in the Baroque and Renaissance music (learn more about that here: 
). To keep the spirit of these incredible eras alive and flourishing, we thought it would be a fantastic idea to create a mini community challenge for all of you to participate in!
The Challenge:
We invite you to record and upload a video of yourself playing a piece from the Baroque or Renaissance era. We want to see your passion and skill while you bring these timeless compositions to life.
How to participate:
Record a video of yourself performing a Baroque or Renaissance piece.
- Upload your video to your preferred platform (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
- Share the link to your video in the comments section below.
- Feel free to add a brief description of the piece you chose and why you love it.
Interact and engage:

As a little folkband of 6 women, we work on peaces that are deep folk, from Bretagne, Ireland, german songs out of Renaissance -Madrigale, but I have filmed one first take of our new peace last wednesday, it is a folk song with elements of renaissance as the polyphne voices, we have to work on it but we decided to do.

ferran You are doing a great job! I have had a student lute for almost a year-and-a-half now, but I cannot play like this (I wish I could). I tried cutting my nails off, thinking it would improve my sound, but it made it much worse. Maybe I didn't stick with it for long enough, but it took all the joy out of my playing, both lute and guitar. I also tried playing with "thumb under" technique, but it is just so awkward. Again, maybe I just need more patience, but I have reverted back to playing lute with my guitar right hand technique.
Do you have a teacher or are you doing it on your own?

ferran Very nice, Ferran! That's a beautiful looking (and sounding) lute you have. Six courses in E is unusual these days, but probably makes good sense, especially for guitarists! (And if I'm not mistaken, Paul Kieffer has been using one lately.) May I ask what the scale length is? Thanks!
