Realized most of the songs that I'm learning and really like are all from this era.

Julia Florida: Have learn it a while back, meaning have memorized the fingerings and the piece but never really work on it in terms of phrasing and dynamics. Will use this challenge as an opportunity to work on it. Very rough especially with the B section and harmonics.

Eric Phillips Yes, I only recently learn about Debussy's music and totally love them. It is such a pity that he never wrote anything for the guitar.

Eric Phillips Don and Eric, I agree, this is a beautiful piece. I love Debussy but hard to find good transcriptions for our instrument. Don, this one is very nice and played so beautifully!

Paul Kennedy I was using the Jack Marshall arrangement. It started with me listening to the Piano rolls of Debussy playing his own music on youtube then Christopher Parkening playing this piece came out and I knew I had to play it.

The second set of Aguado etudes
Leccion 47 and Estudio 13, from his Nuevo Metodo para guitarra. They are also in the selection of Aguado Etudes GA 62 (7 and 17)
In contrast with the previous set, the main voice is here in the upper part. Having problems with my a-finger nail lately, I had to work so hard to make the melody sing, without sounding too sharp and thin.

joosje Well, you certainly succeeded in making the melodies sing, Joosje! There is such a purity to these these Aguado studies. I need to revisit them.

joosje you're sounding great even with a problem with your a nail!! I think you can make the melody sharper and thinner without being less interesting, in most case a clearer timber will stand out better from the rest IMHO.

joosje Beautiful Joosje! Both pieces are very lovely and well played. You were able to bring out the singing voices quite nicely despite your nail issue. Eric's choices in Coste's music have inspired me to delve more deeply into Coste's work. Your performances here have done the same for me with Aguado. Thank you!

Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz yes, I never get tired of Aguado’s studies. They are so rich, even the ‘easier’ ones. You want to bring out all the beauty and it’s just never enough.

Coste - Op 38 No 8 (May 5 update)
I have been able to sneak in some practice time on this piece. I think I'm playing it at the tempo I'd like now, but there are still many trouble spots. I really don't enjoy playing fast music like this. I always feel like I'm trying to keep up with a speeding train, and I get very anxious. Is that something everyone feels, or is it just my personality?

Eric Phillips Me too, always feel anxious when playing a faster tune. I need to memorize the whole piece and play super slow when practicing something faster than my comfortable speed.
The flow you played this time was better than last time, and thanks for your suggestion, I think I will start with some simple pieces by Mertz this month.
