Dear community members,
it is wonderful to see and hear how great you all are playing during that challenge! Congartulations! I am looking forward to the progress with your and Martins help. Unfortunately I had almost no time this week, but now I at least managed to record Lagrima and Adelita. These pieces seem to be common ground for the most, but not for me ;-) ...
I think it isn´t easy at all to play these pieces with a good sound and feeling, but I work on it, I promise!

Giuseppe Gasparini Gratie, Giuseppe, and congratulations for your version of the study in e-minor! The sound is just great. I never played that piece, but now after listening to you I am eager to learn it. Thank you!

Thomas Bravo Thomas, wonderful!
I really enjoyed your moving interpretation of Lágrima, especially how you cherished the 3rd bar in the B-Part. It's always hard to make sense of these notes, the way you pronounced the second note, the high e, was magical!
Same with Adelita, you show good taste in how the music flows from one bar over to the next! Be careful about the B-Part, you have one wrong bass note, I attached the score and marked it! -
Martin Thanks a lot for your evaluation! And you are absolutely right: That bass note was wrong
. It can be dangerous to play by heart too long, without looking at the scores from time to time.... -
Thomas I love your Adelita! So beautiful. I am learning this piece too. I can learn a lot from your intepretation of dynamic, Thomas.

hi everyone !
So, I managed to learn the first part of lagrima, and here is a video of me attempting (and failing) to play it. It’s still very clumsy - please be gentle as I’m still in my first months of classical guitar.
I hope it will become slightly more fluid in the upcoming days!Cheers

Didier Good job, Didier. Your left hand looked very secure. Those barres in measure 5 are not easy.

Didier Bravo, so happy to see you here and what an amazing job after just a couple of months into classical guitar! I think all of us could really see and hear that you really enjoyed the beautiful harmonies of this piece!
I made a short video on helping you shifting up and down on the fretboard, securing new positions after shifting can cause some trouble if we execute a stressful shift!

Ok, here's my 2nd update for this week.
One thing I found easy: I found this song easy to memorize. I think because it is so familiar and the harmony and melodies are exactly what you'd expect them to be.
One thing I found hard: Surprisingly I'm have issues with the slurs. I thought I was good at slurs :(
Here's a video of me playing through Adelita. Lots of string noise, flubbed notes, missed notes, etc. etc. but that just means I have lots of room to make each subsequent video show improvement. Also still just working on mechanics so not much thought put into music yet. Also please ignore my hair, still getting covid quarantine cuts from my wife. :D

matt Awesome! I do the exact same thing, focus on the mechanics, to get your finger out of the way for the music. Of course, sometimes on thing depends on the other, but in general I like to identify and work on solutions, so I can concentrate on the music!
I think the slur problem in this piece comes from a very active back-and -orth shif... you know what, you get a video, haha (it's too early on a sunday morning to write an in-depth-description of the mechanics of the left hand)

Martin Oh wow! Thanks Martin!! I hadn't even noticed how much movement my left wrist was doing. I will work on this today! I'm also intrigued by your little finger activation exercise. This is also something I wasn't aware needed attention. I am going to go search for your lesson on it. Thanks again for the video! I think this will be a great help.

Hello everybody! I have been practicing the first (minor) part of Capricho Arabe since Monday, therefore only recorded one third of it. My plan is to finish the second part this week. I have some difficulties with timing, and not sure that I played correctly. Sorry about the mess on my desktop
