What Guitar do you play?
What is the instrument of your choice? 🎸
I play a Paco Santiago Marin - XXX Anniversario! This guitar has been with me all my university years, and I have learned so much on this instrument! It has a lot of marks, so I intend to have my top redone within the following years, but I am still in love with the sound of this instrument! But it also has its shortcomings. It’s not very easy to play, guitars with a more modern approach require much less effort!

As I read your question, the point of it is around what guitars we are currently playing, not necessarily what we own.
Given that, I would first answer by saying that the two guitars that I currently play the most are a 2019 Martin Blackwell double top, and a 2022 Jeff Sigurdson double top - both cedar tops. They are simply magical, IMO (at least from this intermediate level player's perspective).
I have been very blessed to be able to acquire several other guitars. I didn't buy them to necessarily create a collection, but as more part of my constant quest to find the type of guitar that I would eventually want to keep forever. Those include:

My acoustic guitars lean heavily on Pacific Northwest luthiers because that's where I lived for many years and those were names I was exposed to (thanks to Drew Henderson, Tariq Harb, and Bradford Werner, among several others).

Manuel Velazquez from 1966 until 2019 except for a year with a Ramirez 1A the gave me severe tendinitis. Now it's a Jeremy Cooper double top.

don I'm happy for you Don, this is a great experience waiting for a brand new instrument crafted for you and following the steps as the luthier is building it. Can't wait to hear the sound in your hands! But who wears flip-flops in the second picture?! 😆

Blaise Laflamme Yes, I’m super excited. When I started to learn classical guitar, I was playing a 50 dollars guitar and very soon outlive that. I very soon also realize this will be a hobby that will stay with me for life. I wanted something more personal. While I now play on a luthier made guitar but it is not made for me.
I waited 3 years for this and to see it take shape is really exciting. That’s the luthier in the flip-flop 😂

don I understand you, once you have experienced hand crafted luthier guitar it's hard to go back. My last guitar took 2.5 years to arrive and I was not able to wait that long for it then I bought a used one from the same luthier a few months after the order! 😅
What you don't know is that you'll have to wear flip-flop yourself to get the most out of it... that's the rule! 😆

it finally arrived. and it look so pretty like a candy. Will do a thorough test over weekend but so far loving how bright the trebles are.

I play a Jeremy Cooper double top, 640mm. Took 1.5 years. Top is bear claw spruce outer, cedar inner, balsa strips to separate the two tops, a la Antonius Muller, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Rodgers tuners. Totally awesome sound. I retired my 1966 Velazquez when I got this guitar.

Hey guys,
So I mainly play a Duane McDonald (me) classical guitar. I designed and built it to play while sitting on the couch, next to my wife, while watching TV or something without disturbing anybody else in the room. It actually sounds pretty amazing. The neck and head stock are curly maple, The fingerboard is wenge, the tuners are snakewood, and the body is acacia. I also designed the bridge and saddle using curly, maple and bone.
I also play a Martin, but much more rarely (the martin requires good posture and form, my guitar allows me to be lazy and reclined haha)

Hi. I bought a 2015 Dumitriu about a year ago. So far, really enjoying this guitar. Great playing and sounding instrument. This is something I’ve always wanted and finally decided to purchase and so glad that I did. Took about a year to find one for sale. Purchased from the Grand Salon in Canada.

2001 Thomas Humphrey - Millennium - A great guitar but as of last month I had a horrendous accident. I had a steel string and it toppled over at speed and the machine head went through the top like a dart going into a dartboard. Totally distraught. Iife goes on
