📖 What's on your music stand right now?

The single most useful thread for finding repertoire ideas is the one where everyone just says what they're working on. 🎸

💬 Reply with:

  • The piece (or pieces) on your stand this week
  • How long you've been working on it
  • One thing about it that's currently giving you trouble

No need to be polished — works in progress are the point. And feel free to scroll the replies for ideas on what to tackle next.

Lots of music you're working on! I should take a look at the track, do you like it? I don't know Vivaldini, you've piqued my curiosity!

Lobos and Tarrega, nothing less, what are you working on from the complete works of Tarrega?

continuing to refine capricho arabe' and a few of the mazurkas.  Nothing new from that book however (it just happened to be on my stand ;-)

Which version of the Fantasia are you working on, and in E or D minor?

I'm working on the 2nd piece in the 3-piece suite Tres Colores Porteños by Claudia Montero. Still actually working on the 1st piece too. A great suite for Argentinian themes and themes portaining to Buenos Aires in particular. I'm listening to old tangos on Youtube, not so much guitar, but singing and orchestra to get a better feeling for the music and interpretation. A great opportunity for expression.

I don't know this work, are you planning to share your progress in the unfinished business challenge?
