    BWV 996 Allemande

This is a pretty shaky recording of the first Lute Suite Allemande. I hope to try and get a better recording later tonight but I have not had good luck in trying to record this. At least it is the full Allemande and there are moments that hold up.

Emma Thanks Emma. I just need to find time to clean all the pieces up but Tonebase keeps subjecting me to such great challenges and livestreams that I can never find the time.

    BWV 1002 Tempo di Borea

Continuing my tradition of shaky recordings. I've had this on my list for quite a while and am finally getting to it. It obviously needs a lot of work but it is within reach. I read thru its Double each morning s I know that is also possible though it will take considerably longer.

    • Jack Stewart This is already sounding very good, Jack. It's such dramatic and intense music.

Eric Phillips It is very dramatic and has some very unusual harmonic sections. Bach keeps you guessing and on your toes!

BWV 995 Gavottes I and II update

I finally made an update on these Gavottes (played without repeats). I think they are somewhat better.

    • Jack Stewart Well played, Jack. The left hand looks so difficult, with all those leaps, barres, and contortions.

Eric Phillips Thanks Eric. I decided to record these without repeats - to reduce my stress by half and increase the possibility of getting a decent recording.

Jack Stewart Hey Jack, that was beautiful.  You are doing a terrific job on the the Bach pieces you have posted.  It seems like you also have memorized this, which is not easy.  I really enoyed your excellent playing.  Thanks!!

    • Jack Stewart I tend to think of repeats as somewhat optional. That's part of our interpretive license, I say.
