Gaspar Sanz - Rujero y Paradetas

The 4th piece of "Suite Española" is "Rujero y Paradetas". But this time, I tried to play directly from the original Baroque tablature instead of playing the arranged version. I am unsure if I played them correctly, but it was fun and made me want to try playing them on a real Baroque guitar.🤩

    • Wai I love those! Short and sweet, but you really capture the flavor of the music. Your ornaments are really god. If I close your eyes, it sounds like you are playing a baroque guitar.

Wai thank you for chosing one of the greatest Spanish guitar composers in the Baroc period. I dare to post here my interpretation of another piece of Gaspar Sanz's Spanish Suite: Fuga al Ayre Español.

JUAN ALONSO Thank you so much, Juan. As far as I know, for his Fantasía.... Rodrigo mainly based on another piece of the Gaspar Sanz's suite, Españoletas, which I have also recorded in this video. I am sure you will recognized it!

Eric Phillips Thank you, Eric! I've been watching other people play these pieces on YouTube, and I found that they repeat certain passages. However, I'm not sure how to determine which passages should be repeated. I noticed that there's a double barline in the tab, maybe those are the places for repeat? 🧐

Santi Thank you, Santi! Your playing was beautiful. I also enjoy playing Bradford Werner's arrangement of Sanz's music. His version is faithful to the original but not overly challenging. While I haven't tried the version in your video yet, I look forward to giving it a try in the future!

     To All,

I have been too busy to participate in the recent challenges. However I took the time to listen to all your great performances. They are very inspiring for a beginner like me.

Thank you very much to share your work.

  • I'd worked before on a few of Torroba's Castillos de Espana including Montemayor, aka Romance de los Pinos, so I thought I'd readdress them here.
