    • Vilio Celli the fast tempo(135) is difficult as is going up and down the fret board

    • Vilio Celli you're right, the required speed adds a bit of challenge but this piece is beautiful without being played fast, don't worry too much about that. Good start!

Vilio Celli Good beginning, Villio. It is nice to hear some Sanz, his music is not played enough.

Vilio Celli good start Vilio! I love this piece, and I know it's difficult. I've been trying to master it for decades, and it's still kicking my butt! 😂 One thing that may be helpful is to not worry about the ornamentation until you get the basic structure solid.

  • first videosession, a lot of work remains;-), hope, you like it. Thank you Eric, that you brought Barrios to my conscience in the Latin America-Challenge with Luz mala, old medallion and Oracon.....

    • Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz Beautiful! I've started this piece many times, only to move on when it just got too difficult. You have made such incredible progress very quickly. Those chord voicing are so difficult, but your are managing them quite nicely already.

Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz I admire you for taking on this piece! Anything above the 12th fret can be quite challenging. I have to say I'm not familiar with this piece, so I'm happy you introduced it to me!

    • Steve Pederson that was, what I told my teacher some wheeks ago, that I feel lost above the 12th fret and that I urgently begged him to now let me go and change that... doing this makes me feel more secure, more familiar with the whole fret, more free. So start doing it, it just goes further above...I took some wheeks to handle it to let the tone not be dead, but step by step it grows;-)

    • Eric Phillips I have to work a lot on muting, on flageolett on shifting softly, on how to move my hands above 12th fret to let the tone stay alive, the score looks simple, but it has a lot of themes to really work slowly on. But I am glad I did that step out of my comfortarea- and thak you for coming up with Barrios in the challenge of Latin Music-I did not know about his music and now feel so enriched!

    • Stefanie Mosburger-Dalz hi Stefffi. Sorry for my late reply. I finally took some time to listen to all you busy bees, and share my reflections. This is already sounding so good. You have really good control in the high positions and chord changes. Congrats! It’s not an easy task to let the upper voice sing and keep the middle and bass voices clear and rhythmic without accents. This is a piece that will grow in time, as you keep playing and refining, and it’s so beautiful.

    • joosje Thank you so much- you can imagine, how much I worked on it since Roman gave it to me, but in this video I had luck, I was just giving up and as Douglas Adams wrote -we have to miss the ground to fly;-)....I did manage to leave the ground for some seconds but now I am back and try to get that again...

    Hi,
funny, I planned to play the Preludio of La Catedral, too (good start, Stefanie! And all others had a good start, too). I think, I will switch then in order to avoid having the same piece multiple times in a program. I will think about that today and hope to submit something tomorrow.
BTW: if there is a free slot I would like to play on Dec 17, because I assume that I am not available on Dec 29.

  • Sor Op 6 No 12 measures 22-61 Dec 6

So here is the entire rest of the study, picking up where I left off yesterday, at measure 22. This is the B section (in minor) and the repeated A section (in major), so essentially it's the entire piece.

It's still very rough around the edges, with plenty of mistakes and not much musicality.
