Thought I'd post an update on how I'm coming along with Sons de Carrilhões by Brazilian guitarist/composer João Pernambuco. If you thought my last piece was filled with mistakes - you ain't seen nothing yet! 😂

Seriously, though, I am really enjoying this piece. My last submission of this piece had just the A section. This one has both A and B, though I didn't take the repeats of the sections for time's sake (I figured you get the point), only did the D.S.

There's just a couple spots that I need to iron out the fingering still. Then, get the tempo up and we'll be "cooking with gas" as they say.

    • Steve Pederson That’s great, Steve! You’ve got all the finger motions down really well.

Eric Phillips Thanks Eric! I think just some right-hand fingering is what's kind of tripping me up a bit. Have you ever tried this piece?

    • Steve Pederson I have. I never got it to a performance level, but I think I worked on it for a few days.

    • Steve Pederson Nice, Steve. Love how this is coming together. I've travelling sans guitar for about a week and I'm really missing it especially seeing all the posts here.

    • Steve Pederson Thatsvcoming along really nicely, Steve.  Stephanie Jones has a lesson on this on Tonebase that’s a lot of fun.  It gave me some new ideas and tweaks.

I must have slept through week 2! (I wish......)Here's my attempt at an 'Air' by John Dowland based on the medieval song 'As I went to Walsingham'. Walsingham is the site of a Christian Shrine in Norfolk (England). Again audio only - it's safer that way :-)

    • Derek That's great, Derek. I wasn't familiar with that one. I love how some of Dowland's chords and phrases are pleasantly surprising since he was writing before "the rules" of Western music were more established.

Derek Very nice Derek. I'm learning all kinds of history and geography from this one! Thanks for posting. Sounds like some merry chaps sitting around a fire in a pub at Christmas time! 🎅
