This will be an interactive Livestream, so let me attach all the info needed for this exciting new tonebase LIVE format!

What do I need?

We are going to use ZOOM for the interactive part of Livestream (the same piece of software that we have been using for the Virtual Hangouts). While it is not necessary to download the software, I would recommend it as it runs more stable as the browser version. In order to have the best audio quality, you can activate the option

Preserve Original Sound, here you find the documentation on how to activate that.

It's best to prepare for that lesson to get the most out of it in the interactive part! So listen to some of our fantastic release on

How does this take place?

  1. Simply watch the Livestream at the time indicated in the Live Calender!
  2. At the end of the approx. 25-35min Livestream, I will share a ZOOM Link in the Chat. Click on that link, it will take you to our ZOOM Cohort Based Course
  3. In the Zoom Call, we will get into greater depth about challenging passages of that piece, we can discuss certain fingering possibilities TOGETHER and YOU can get a full masterclass experience if you decide to take part with audio and video (not necessarily needed, more on that below)!

Martin Here is the score I refer to the most, Delcamp. I have sort of used sections, or fingerings from other's and have also used many of my own fingerings.

  • What is the secret on getting a clear tone on that top note in the first few bars.

Richard M Levy I'll refer that question to him, do you have a piece where that is an  issue for you?

Nora Torres-Nagel Personally, I like to work with pieces where I know exactly what the main questions are! Should I plan you for a spot with Granada? 💪

Martin I have exactly the same question as Nora. What is better for a masterclass a piece that may be too green like Cadiz, although now it is better than when I posted it for the Spanish  challenge or something already worked like my Gavottes? This is my second masterclass! So I don’t know, What is more efficient ?

Emma I will reserve a spot for you :) I am pretty sure that Sanel will inspire you with whatever piece you decide to work with him! I think he has great knowledge about Bach (and Spoiler-Alert, next month will be the BACH-Month ;) but it is absolutely fine to bring Cadiz!

  • Martin Nora again. Should we send a video with the whole piece in advance as did Olli? maybe it is not a bad strategy to use the 15 minutes more in the points addressed by Sanel, even playing them again....what do you mean?

Nora Torres-Nagel Dear Nora, I just took the recording I uploaded for the Spanish-Challenge to show what piece I want to work on. In the meantime I worked intense on the piece and changed some things - I will play a newer and different version via zoom at the evening of the live-lesson. I don't think it is necessary to upload a video before the live-lesson...👨‍🎨 ??? But uploading a recording may be helpful for the teacher to prepare for the lesson as best as possible after getting a picture , seeing you perform the piece ???  ( just my thought about it....) Best Regards

    • Olli ja, sure. I thought because the 15 min run very quickly....I think Granada takes 6-7 min to play it....let's see what means Martin....

Nora Torres-Nagel We can't promise that our live guests have enough time to watch the submissions beforehand, but I think it's good practice for you anyway to record and submit a video 📹

      Like
    • Martin that is fine Martin, of course. But it is not a bad point to send a video anyway... even as an additional practice, it is true ! thanks!

Nora Torres-Nagel Exactly, it helps you get a more objective overview over the piece as well and maybe you'll find some specific questions by listening back to your own recording!
