Hey everyone - this is Igor from tonebase

It's such a pleasure to welcome you as one of the founding members of the tonebase community. Please introduce yourself in a post below with the following format:
- Where are you from and what's your favorite food from there? ;)
- What are you currently working on?
- What are you hoping to get out of this community?
I'll go first:
- While it's hard to pinpoint where exactly I'm from, lol, I just go with Bavaria Germany, and as favorite food, I'd choose Beer (surprise, surprise - closely followed by "Schweinshaxe" - Bavarian Pork-knuckle, which is quite delicious, but sooo heavy that it feels weird calling it favorite food)
- Trying to keep my Aranjuez in the fingers, even though certainly don't have that much time to practice as during college days...
- I hope we can facilitate authentic and interesting discussions around playing, learning, teaching, performing the guitar as well as all adjacent topics like concert prep, professional development, auditioning etc...

Hello Everyone, Nipun here from India. Iām a Composer and I play the Piano and Classical Guitar.
My favourite food item is Bombay Duck (Bombil) & KinG Fish (Surmai) and Yes I also love Mutton.
Iām working on Adelita, Study in B minor Fernando Sor & have just started reading through Lobet Variations on a Theme by Sor maybe someday I will be able to achieve the entire piece, it has great insights for Guitar Composers.
I really want to master the art of Classical Guitar and become a better Composer/Performer so far Iām a self-taught Guitarist.
Iāve started growing nails and have said bye bye to the Piano for now .. Complete focus is on Classical Guitar.
Really excited for this new journey.

Thanks for welcoming me into the community. Itās a blessing to be a part of Tonebase world. God is very kind.
Speaking of eating Indian food in US, you maybe right about the food not being the real thing, I mean, unless itās made by someone who knows and understands the authentic recipes and flavours that go in. And Iām sure you had great fun celebrating Diwali, itās one of my favourite festival out of all the other million festivals we celebrate here in India.
Thank you for listening to my work. Iām glad you liked my composition. Yes!! you are right about the key changes, they are very romantic/dramatic, the piece starts off in āEb Majorā then goes to the parallel Minor āEb minorā then goes to āF# minorā for a very brief period only to end in āC# minorā
About the videos lessons, yes I have bookmarked all of them. āCrafting a compositionā course by Master Assad is deeply insightful and even the āArranging folk melodiesā by Laura Snowden is a great one!

Hi everyone, I'm Magda and I'm from Italy. My favorite food is pizza (I also eat pasta a lot). I just discovered this platform, so I'm struggling a bit to understand it. I have a suggestion for a specific lesson (I know that here is not the properly topic for that). If you guys know how to do it.
Anyway, back to the topic. I'm currently studying for my exam at the conservatory: Villa-Lobos, Sor, Paganini, Legnani and more.
I hope to "fix" my posture problems and make music, for real... I don't really like the sound that I produce.

Magda Ciao, Magda! Where are you from in Italy? I lived for five years in Roma during the 1990s. I live in the United States now, and I really miss the pizza and pasta. We have them here in the U.S., of course, but they are not the same (or as good)!
I am not a professional guitarist, so I would not presume to help you with your posture. I know there are several good videos about posture on the site. Perhaps if you send in a picture or video of yourself playing, one of the team members could give you some advice. They are all amazing!
Next Monday, August 16th, we are having our next community challenge, and it is on the great studies of Matteo Carcassi (who is also Italian!) Opus 60. It would be wonderful if you could join in. You can read about it here on the community page. I love the challenges and I have learned so much through them.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I live in Puglia, near Bari. In America I saw the biggest pizza and I ate that of Chicago and New York (there is a "war" of the best pizza between this two haha).
In these days I'm watching videos of the posture but if I can contact someone, maybe he/she will help me more. I don't know how to do it though.
Wow, Carcassi. I remember n.2 op. 60 and I think someone made a video recently. I would love to partecipate... for now I'm resting my wrist, I strained it. I hope I can participate!

I hope your hand gets better soon. We would love for you to participate in the challenge. I just watched the video lesson of Carcassi Op 60 No 2 and it was great!

I'm currently restarting as a beginner again. I have a perpetual problem with self motivation and self control.

I am wasan and I am currently live in vancouver canada, originally from thailand, my favorite food is Pad thai and Spaghetti. Now I am working on Asturias and regondi etude no.1, I am really excited to learn the new repertoire or etude on tonebase and get some inspiration and useful resource for community.

There is no better place to start than Sorās Opus 60. I adore so many of Sorās great studies. Iād like to invite you to try the Carcassi challenge. You can read about it on the forum, and watch a recording of the kickoff where everything is explained very well by Martin. If you can play that piece by Sor, I think a few of the Carcassi studies would be playable as well.

Hi everyone! I'm Cliff from North Bay Ontario, Canada. My favourite food (yes, we spell favourite that way in Canada Eh!) is anything I make in my collection of cast iron dutch ovens over a fire pit or charcoal. Some of the dutch ovens I cook in are over 200 years old and the food tastes great!
I am fairly new to classical guitar and I am currently working on my nerves! I seem to be scared to play in front of anyone or even a video camera! Weird, but I'm working on it.
I'm looking for inspiration, guidance and the hope of playing well enough to entertain my Grand-Children.... well, that's the dream
I hope to learn from this amazing collection of great players and one day, maybe give back to someone who is willing to take on the challenge of classical guitar. Cheers from Canada.
