  • Hi, David, and thanks for your response.

Actually, what I am looking for is one or two other players who are kind of in the same boat as I, having been engaged with the guitar for some time without a lot of of outside input, and now looking to improve their game based on ideas and techniques presented here. I am definitely looking for informal meetings, where no one is “the teacher” and the only agenda is what we agree to talk about, but rather than dealing with a group I would rather meet one-on-one with someone. For me, that lends itself to more meaningful interaction. I have tried this with a few people, and each time the other has seemed to want to be my teacher. I am looking for a simpatico learning companion! If you yourself are interested in exploring this notion, I will be happy to talk more with you.

Tom Misseldine I agree that having a peer with similar aims makes for effective learning. I experienced this myself as a teen, after befriending a fellow student in my teacher's studio. What ensued was a healthy mix of cooperation and competition. (And a friendship that has endured through the decades!) Of course, this kind of interaction works best when the personalities involved are compatible! Perhaps ToneBase could establish a database of individuals interested in finding a learning partner, with a profile sketch indicating level, aims, availability, and so on.

  • I would hope picking a level were simpler in the platform. I rely on picking repertoire that is at my level, roughly.

    Hi everyone,

I am a bit stuck with the Practice Plan, as one of the videos (about Rasgueado) seems not to be accessible any more. So, I cannot finish the plan. Any thoughts?

Carlo Martins Hi Carlos, I'm forwarding this issue to our developers! Can you somehow see the thumbnail of the video in question, maybe I can identify what's the issue there!

Carlo Martins it looks like it's this video here:
      https://app.tonebase.co/guitar/courses/player/advanced-technical-exercises-course-with-artyom-dervoed?moduleSlug=advanced-technical-exercises-course-with-artyom-dervoed-rasgueados&t=1

Can you confirm whether it plays for you or not? I have already forwarded the issue, it's definitely not the expected behaviour that it's showing up in the practice plans but not play!

martin So interesting. The link you sent me just now works fine for me. When I try from my main page (Practice plans), it gives an error. Many thanks for this!
