Welcome, one and all, to the Main Thread for this challenge!
This is where the magic happens - the thread where we'll all be posting our daily updates.

Every day between December 6th and 19th, we are hoping to read your daily updates in this very thread right here!
Please use the following format when commenting (feel free to copy & paste!):

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag no. 1: dark sand dunes with some moss
- One thing you found easy: The first bar was the hardest one for me to learn, although it looked easy enough on my first try.
- One thing you found difficult: I liked that it was a single line; it allowed me to focus on every note and it was much easier to read than most pieces I play.

- One thing you found easy: Shockingly enough for me, the flats in the key signature were very friendly.
- One thing you found difficult: The first and strong beat of the bar never being on the bass note.

working on Landslag VII, this one is really challenging for me! I'm going to have to work on the compassions before posting about it

Landslag I worked on: number 5
What I found easy: most of it was easy to read through
What I found hard : the timing on the triplets

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag no. 6
- One thing you found easy: The melody ebbs and flows naturally, it was really easy to let go and just create beautiful music! Also finally changed my strings - that helps a lot with sound quality!
haha - One thing you found difficult: As in previous movements, the quiet and atmospheric nature of the piece makes it extremely noticeable whenever any extraneous noise is caused by either hand or even by other body movements. This is compounded by the fact that we're recording those, rather than playing them live, making those things stand out even more. The main challenge is, in my opinion, to minimize those noises to the point where they don't take your listener out of the atmosphere, without losing track of the most important thing: making beautiful music. Don't allow all of your attention to be focused on technique - make the piece breathe! That's what I have to tell myself, at least.

I'm not satisfied, I found it a tricky piece, easy to make mistakes in the recordings, however I want to go on

Landslag V - very nice 'early morning' piece to break into the day of playing!. Again it is nice to have these different types of compositions to appreciate the variety of music and personalities.

Dennis Greensmith You're right! I went through that piece on a cold German winter morning as well, I really liked the freedom of the meter and tempo. I did initially played it quite fast, probably because of my morning coffee, haha!

- Landslag you worked on: Landslag II. – leira í botni fjarðar - littoral mud in the bottom of a fjord
- One thing you found easy: Transitioning from the chords to the melodic part! Bar 16 and 17 are crucial for establishing the meter and tempo for the next part, but I felt that it had a nice flow despite the vertical choral structure in the beginning!
- One thing you found difficult: Definitely finding a way to balance and connect the chords! In the end I embraced what I couldn't change, the planting of my fingers in order to prepare the chords created a subtle pulse that helped to carry me through the first 16 bars! Another thing was to get the guitar resonate in the low register while playing soft, different right hand fingerings and register helped a lot there.
I hope you like my red/blue lighting setup for compositions from a land of ice and fire! (didn't have a funny blue hat though
