Piece I played: Mazurka en Sol (one of my favorites that nobody has done so far)
What was easy: I love it so much that is was a joy to work on it. When I would finish it, all I'd want to do was play it again (and again, and again ...).
What was difficult: I could not get the slurs in measure 7 to sound good, so I plucked all the notes. The stretch in beat 3 of measure 21 is really hard for me. The long glissando in measure 22 was hard to pull off as well.
By the way, GSI recently released a video of Pepe Romero playing this that is fantastic. If you go listen to it, though, please don't listen to mine until much later as mine will suffer greatly in comparison!

Promise kept.
Iām so grateful to Martin for bringing this challenge. Unfortunately, it wasnāt the best timing for me - and Tarrega is one of my favorites! I played so many of his pieces.
but here I was, packing, unpacking, (after driving from Prague to Belgium, again testing) cleaning, painting, assembling book cases ā¦
my fingers missed the subtle touch of the strings, nails broken or damaged
But a challenge is a challenge, so this week I took on two new pieces, and warming up with Tarrega s studies (those are great as well.)
Here is prelude No2, as promised (and explained in my previous posting). Quite demanding for the left hand, I can tell youā¦.
The sound quality isnāt ideal, but I really didnāt have time to work on that. Just a quick smartphone recording. Last week I received my line audio mics. Now I need to buy the interface and get the whole set organized ā¦ Iāll get back to Martins recording course. But playing comes first!

Yeah, this is my bonus submission.
What was easy? I took a very moderate tempo and the chord progressions arenāt very complicated.
What was difficult? How to make the melodic material sound really lyrical and the bass notes soft and rhythmical. I didnāt quite live up to my goals, definitely need more than one week (Sunday-Friday in ātempo rubatoā )
