  • Hello everybody! I have been practicing the first (minor) part of Capricho Arabe since Monday, therefore only recorded one third of it. My plan is to finish the second part this week. I have some difficulties with timing, and not sure that I played correctly. Sorry about the mess on my desktop 🙈

Gokce Turkmendag  Nice job Gocke! We are working on the same section. I wasn't able to play it in one go so kudos to you!

Gokce Turkmendag I can see it. It’s right after yours. But you’re right. No one has commented. I was figuring it must be bad 😂 How discouraging. I worked so hard.

    • Debbie you cannot be that bad 😂😂 One day I used s*** word and my post waited for approval. I was able to see it, but also the approval status was written on the top of the post. I am not sure it was because of the word. Then it was approved in a few days.

Gokce Turkmendag this is suuuch a wonderful and mysterious piece, I am so happy that a lot of you guys take on the challenge and work on one of the great guitar rep standards! You did a wonderful job on this one, I am sure the feeling and timing will improve once you get this more "into your fingers"! Keep going, I look forward to where this piece is going to take you 👩‍🚀

Hello challenge buddies! I'm late in the week with this but better late than never. Sorry for the guitar. I'm in between guitars right now as I just sold the last one and a new one is being shipped to me on Monday 😀

What I I found easy: I was able to work on this four days this week. I did not find the first page particularly difficult but later when I work more on phrasing and increasing tempo for the fast passages I will have to practice much more.

What I found difficult: Playing the intro and the first part of the next section in one go. I finally gave up and did two different takes. I just had too many brain farts. I try to memorize a new piece as I'm working on it so putting it together wasn't working yet.

    • Debbie now I can see it finally! It's an incredible job for only practising for four days. I have the same problems with timing at the intro, especially on the sextuplets measure. It is not easy to use a metronome with this piece but you can try a few times to understand it clearly.

Gokce Turkmendag thanks Gokce. I’ve been trying to play along with Tariq to get a feel for the phrasing. I like how he talks about the sections that are supposed to be played capriciously. The sextuplet phrase will sound better once I can increase the tempo on the 32nd notes following the sextuplets. I even have them circled in triplets to better see them. Thanks mentioning it. I will do better my best to work on it 😁
