You may be thinking of MicroMesh paper which you can order from Strings By Mail. I use the 4000 to smooth and the 8000 grade to polish after shaping with a glass file.

I played without a reverse ramp for years and only discovered it as a more natural shape for my a fingernail after finding the Viloteau video. YMMV.

Poet Mary Oliver advised that we give our second best effort of the day to our job. I practice every morning starting around 6:30. That gives me 90 minutes before I must get ready for the office.
