Since Week 1 is over, this thread is now closed for update submissions
Feel free to continue replying to people's existing submissions, but if you would like to post an update, use the current Week 2 thread.
Alright my friends - this is the thread where we'll all be posting our daily updates.

- One thing you found easy: The polyphony between bass and treble flowed very naturally, I had an easy time playing each line like it belonged to its own voice.
- One thing you found difficult: I had a hard time creating enough variety throughout the repeated measures.

- One thing you found difficult: I had the dilemma of deciding between Segovia's version and the original score. I used portions of both.

Hi - Dennis here,
- Etude you worked on: 22 and 23
- One thing you found easy: These are not too difficult to read or develop correct LH and RH fingerings
- One thing you found difficult: with 22 - how to create a 'musical piece' from a arpeggio study - I watch there Cecillio Perera lesson and will use his guidence to help. With 23 - a great study for the RH coordination/articuation and timing !!!
It's quite nice to have these fresh challenges - well done Mircea!

- Etude you worked on: Etude N° 1
- One thing you found easy: Sight reading is quite easy, no difficulties in the notes and the chords.
- One thing you found difficult: I think that the challenge is to find the right fingering for the right hand, in order to keep the fingers alternate on the strings.

I am refreshing the etude No. 22. A very famous and beautiful etude. There is probably an error in bar 25 in this edition (C sharp instead of B).
It's generally easy to read.
I have trouble with an ugly sound (nails too long - but filed off) and with merging melody sounds in some places. I always have a dilemma in bar 28 - I can't decide whether to play D from the bass on the 4th string (then F sharp legato) or on the 5th string and F sharp without legato. In general, the etude is only seemingly moderately difficult.
I did not record because I am away from home until February 20, and my phone records sound that is unacceptable to me.

- One thing you found easy: Sightreading skills needed, and technical requirement
- One thing you found difficult: There are no advices given on how to play the piece (agogics, dynamics). Deduction bindings „Abzugsbindungen“ may be difficult for beginners. I had no idea on how to do the repetition in a different way, so i decided to change the colour. Playing the repetition in the exact same manner as the first time would be very boring .

Giuseppe Gasparini Yes, but honestly, i only played No.14 an 22. in my whole live. Now this is really a challenge to work on all Etudes and bring them to a level that hopefully no listener will have an ear damage. Best Regards.

So - Homeoffice is fun - instead of standing in traffic its possible to use this time to practice For-Etudes

Olli Well done, Olli.
I would love to practice and play the whole set of Etudes op. 35. Most of the pieces are new to me. However, I am a bit pessimistic due to workload during the week(s) - but I will do my best on practicing at least a few ones to play them at least on a reasonable, comfortable, satisfactory level. And: even after the challenge no one forbids to further improve them and play all of them.

Etude I worked on : No 3
One thing I found easy : The first section was fairly easy to sight read.
One thing I found difficult: The second section was harder and I used different fingering to what is marked on the score. I struggled to play parts of this section while sight reading and so (as I had a bit more time today) I found it easier to try to memorise it rather than play part from memory and part from sight as once I've taken my eyes off the score it's tricky to get back to where you want to be. I found the last 4 bars quite tricky. Performance link below - there are a couple of hesitations in there.
I really like this piece, I've never played it before but it's one that I will keep working on

number one. Easy to ready and all in first position. Difficulties are not many but the usual things I find difficult such as consistency while reading and in general finger 4 weakness (always working on that)
number two. Easy in that the counterpoint is mostly within the harmony, Difficulties are when there are 16th notes I tend to hesitate while reading.
number three. easy part is the key of A minor which is common on the guitar. Difficulties are in some of the left hand shifts like in mm 2 when you jump to the D and F etc. and changing to from the 3rd finger on the D natural to the 4th finger when the chord changes to Bb. The appoggiatura where you have to hold the D on string 2 is also difficult to execute well.
