Pretty please write your name on your music!
Hello Composition Challengers!
I would like to ask all the people posting their fantastic music here to please write your names on them!
I'm downloading PDFs without any sign of the author on them and I want to make sure I don't forget whose wonderful hard work they are! Let's give ourselves the credit we deserve

You're totally right! I just realized earlier today that each sketches I've done are exported without the author if separated from the whole. That's a great feature of Dorico to have Flows inside the score, representing movements, but I haven't figured out how they could be exported individually without this problem. I've attached the project including all four pieces in my last post to somehow fix this :(

Blaise Laflamme in File =>Project info => Flow. You can add composer's name in every flow by editing master pages for flow... or by adding text frame (in Engrave mode) with token: {@flowComposer@}

Marek Tabisz thanks Marek for the tip! I bought Dorico last year but this is the first time I'm really using it. So far it was intuitive enough to get started out and do the initial draft, but I'll have to invest more time to master it as you do

Blaise Laflamme I've been working (as a music engraver) on Dorico for about 4 months (before, for years, at the Finale). My publisher forced me to do it - I had no choice! - I had to learn it in a very short time. Sometimes compulsion has its advantages

Marek Tabisz ok so this is why your scores look so polished, you're a pro of engraving! I hope for you, if it was not your choice, that you find it not too hard to switch with all the experience you already have with Finale :(
On my side I had an old version of Sibelius sleeping and I was able to crossgrade for Dorico last year, they had a huge discount and I also got the pro version instead of the educational one, so in the end it was cheaper to crossgrade than upgrading Sibelius itself. And for what I've read the initial Sibelius team, the one before they got bought, were recruited for Dorico. So far I enjoy it for what I've done but I've not encounter the subtleties you are facing.

Blaise Laflamme After the forced transfer from Finale to Dorico, I was terribly frustrated and unhappy. Especially since the old keyboard shortcut habits disturbed me. Fortunately publisher supported me very much, so learning went quite fast (although I still have a lot to learn).

Marek Tabisz that's what I feared, but it looks like it turned out well! Have you done your challenge scores using Dorico, Finale or Musescore?

I've never used Musescore. I often get .xml files exported from Finale from publishers, composers or arrangers - it works fine because I can test scores in both programs (especially more complicated projects). Generally, professional music engraving is my extra job as a retiree
