Week 4: Complete // Apr 12th
Welcome to Week 4 of the Composition Challenge!
Today's show will be the final didactic livestream of the series! Next week, we will reconvene to enjoy each other's music in the final watch party.
Click here to access the show!
In this livestream, I will not only walk you through all the steps of writing a short piece from beginning to end - I will also be composing in front of you, in real time!
Use this thread to submit the pieces you've been working on and any updates about your process.
See you in the stream!

Thanks all of you for the kind words and encouragement. Ashley--you teaching has been awesome, and the members of this Tonebase group have been so inspiring with their dedicated effort, and terrific results. This composing challenge really makes me appreciate the great masters even more. Sometimes I wonder how in the world did they think of those melodies and put it all together; and sometimes bring me to tears when listening...

Hello! A last mad rush for a last piece before it's all over!
This time I opted for the lullaby. I thought a contrast to my previous uploads might be in order.
Easy: deciding the form, which was fairly straightforward for this type of piece
Difficult: getting the notes right so the harmonies moved smoothly and were interesting enough, not to mention playable...
Hope you like it.
Thank you so much Ashley (Ash) Lucero for doing this for all of us! I've really enjoyed it, especially to see how you managed to get so many people starting to composing!

Well..... I could never finish/play the middle section so that is currently under construction. I recorded (very poor renditions) of the first and final sections of my Etude 1 Stravinsky Hommage. This is the first time I have ever recorded myself and it is humbling to say the lest.
I just noticed a message saying 'oops Can't upload'. So maybe I have been spared the humiliation : ) It might have been deemed unsuitable for submission, however I suspect the files were too large.
