Dear friends,

Make sure to leave your questions below and I'll pass them on to Tilman Hoppstock during our livestream - hope to see you all there!

The outstanding performances and recordings of guitarist, musicologist, and composer Tilman Hoppstock are unlikely to have escaped the attention of any aspiring guitarist. His superlative musicianship is matched by a detailed scholarly approach which has resulted in the publication of many authoritative editions, transcriptions, and musicological books.

Fernando Sor was educated at the beautiful monastery of Montserrat in Barcelona. He closely studied the music of Mozart and was influenced by French monks escaping persecution and taking refuge at the monastery. As a result, Sor grew up to become a child of the Enlightenment whose musical style shows all the hallmarks of Classical eloquence and sophistication. Join Tilman Hoppstock in this livestream as he unpacks the understated musical depths of Fernando Sor’s studies for guitar and how they can help us enrich our musicianship.
