Martin Hi Martin - I may change the Stachak Waltz to a short Sor piece - JagdStucke so that both pieces have the 6th string tuned to D which would save a bit of time.  Danke Derek

If I may offer a candid opinion, it would seem to me preferable to provide more than eight spots on the program, but to restrict individual performances either to a single piece only, or to a total length of perhaps four or five minutes, if more than one piece is played. I am not saying this on my own behalf, as I am in no rush to participate in these concerts, although I intend to eventually. But I don't think a 'first to the door' approach makes sense here. Within reason, any Tonebase member who wants to participate should be able to. We have at present at least one person who has asked to be on a 'waiting list' and two confirmed participants who have yet to indicate what they plan to perform. This strikes me as unfortunate. I don't think it would be difficult to tweak the system to accommodate everyone. As I said, just an opinion; I'd be glad to hear others!

David Krupka Thank you for your thoughts, we will keep that in mind for future iterations of the Community Concert! It does seem to become a very popular format and we surely want to include as many people as possible. We are not 100% sure if we want to restrict everybody to play only one piece, as the own experience usually changes quite drastically if you play more then one piece and get acquainted with the virtual stage, but then again there is a need to accommodate as many people as people without having a 3h concert! At the moment though, your approach does seem to be the easiest and fairest to implement!

David Krupka  I don't think a limit of one piece is the best way - maybe a time limit would be better. Also maybe for future concerts those that have played at the previous one are not allowed to sign up at the next one until those that haven't played are given the opportunity to sign up before the

    • Martin i habe just read the new inquietudes . I think that a succes of Tonebase should not become an issue.
the sense of getting use to play for others is the frequency, the repetition of the experience. If one can plays in Tonebase concerts twice a year, because of the long list…I am afraid it would be nice but not very helpful.  I suggest two pieces or three, because of the reason already mentioned, the experience says is better to be more engage with the stage. A limit of 5 min per person sounds for me very good. We could save time , leaving out the commentaries of how we felt, just to save time I mean. Is not possible to do two hours concert,  brief Martin introduction? at least 6-7  per hour could play. Also… to increase the frequency? Two rehearsals and two concerts each two months ? Let’s say one rehearsal and concert per month. Of course Tonebase should decide what is possible and better… but if the community has the inquietud…I can also leave my place for other person of course. But I have to say also that for me this activity of the community is extremely important. I am sure a good solution will be find

Derek I started a Google Document where we can quickly see who played in previous community concerts! I wouldn't change it for this concert now, but for next editions we can limit it to people who haven't played in the concert before!

I've read what David has written and if others want to play at the concert and it cannot increase the numbers, I agree to reduce my participation to one piece or to a predetermined duration (5 minutes?) and give space to others.

ivan paolo Hi Ivan. Just to be clear, I am not suggesting that the current program be changed (although perhaps it could be expanded). Rather, I hope that future Community Concerts will be organized in a manner that allows for greater participation, if this is what Tonebase members want. Obviously, there is some practical limit to how long these concerts can be, but I don't think we are at the point yet where that is an issue.
