Villa-Lobos Prelude no1 track edition

Hello,

I completed the Villa-Lobos Prelude track last week or so and have been practicing the piece since. Something I noticed when looking at performances is that the tonebase edition seems to have an extra high B (B4) at the end of the arpeggi at bars 64 and 65. But in the performances I watched, the arpeggi there stop at the high G before the chord. Is that a typo or just a variation?

(Great job with the tracks, by the way!)

Cheers,

Dimitri

Good 'catch', Dimitri! I would say it's an error. In both the first edition and the more recent scholarly edition edited by Frederic Zigante,, the last two notes of measures 64 and 65 are F# and G#. (The same pattern is repeated in measure 66, except that the G is natural.) Hopefully, ToneBase will address this.

Good catch indeed, thanks for flagging this! And thanks   for the cross-check against the first edition and Zigante. We'll get the score fixed. 🎸
