Landslag I by Gulli Björnsson

After week I'm tried to record finally. I've made near 10 takes and this is not perfect best the best I could do for now.

This record help me to spot thumb problems with the nail shape and movement in general so will do some corrections.

That was very good, Slava. I am only vaguely aware of Bjornsson. Your recording has inspired me look into his works.

Welcome to Tonebase, I noticed you just joined this month. I hope to hear more of your playing.

Jack Stewart The eleven ‘Landscapes’ were composed for ToneBase and can be found in the virtual library. They are definitely worth having a look at.

David Krupka I think that is where I first became aware of Bjornsson, though I didn't explore the pieces very thoroughly. I will definitely take a second look.

Blaise Laflamme I'll have to see if I will have regained enough technique from my 3 week hiatus from playing (trip to Spain). At my age, I lose technique much faster than I regain it and 3 weeks is enough to wipe out everything I can do.😟

    • Jack Stewart sure... but at least the first ones are not that hard if I recall and they are progressive.

  • Slava That was great you brought back this since the initial community challenge this work was created for started 2 years ago in December 2020! I hope you'll record the following ones, you did great! Jack Stewart As I quickly exchanged with Martin a few weeks ago that'd be great if we re-run this challenge, those pieces are very interesting and it's been too long since we had a community challenge!

Blaise Laflamme That’s a great idea, Blaise. These ‘Landscapes’ are definitely worth revisiting! And as you say, it’s been quite a while since we’ve had a community challenge. I hope Martin follows through with this. (And I hope it lasts longer than two weeks - two months would be more like it for an amateur trying to get through so much material.).
