Julia Trintschuk: Preparing for Competitions!

Hello everybody, I am so excited and honored to have the wonderful Julia Trintschuk  coming in for a thought-inspiring livestream on preparing for competitions! 🚀Her list includes some of the biggest guitar and music competitions out there:

  • Internationaler Instrumentalwettbewerb Markneukirchen
  • Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD
  • Deutscher Musikwettbewerb
  • International Llobet Competition Barcelona
  • International J. K. Mertz Competition Bratislava
  • and many more!

And she is talking us through her process that led to her success in this nerve-wracking format of music competitions! Additionally, she is just a great person to work with as her many, many projects show and I couldn't be more happy to talk to her on behalf of you in this livestream 🥳♥💃

As we all might know, the right preparation before a competition makes at least 80% of our competition performance. But what does it mean to prepare properly? Join us with multi-award winning phenomenon Julia Trintschuk („Internationaler Instrumentalwettbewerb Markneukirchen“, „Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD“, "Deutscher Musikwettbewerb", „International Llobet Competition Barcelona" etc.) as we want to discuss everything around the topic of preparing for competitions, starting with the choice of the program, talking about ways of practicing physically and mentally, and finding a routine for the day of the competition.

Let me know if you have any questions for her, I am more than happy to forward her those right in the beginning of the livestream ♥

My question concerns the value of competitions. For aspiring professionals, I guess it is a way of life; but what about for amateurs, particularly amateurs who are no longer young and have no wish to demonstrate to the public that the local ten year olds can play circles around them. Is there any justification for such individuals to participate in the low level competitions that are open to them? (This might be a rhetorical question - I am hard-pressed to think of any reason to sign up for one!) More seriously, what value is there for young guitarists (say, teens or even pre-teens) who have no special musical ambition. Should they be encouraged to participate? (Having been sent to a few small competitions when I was young, I have mixed very feelings about this.)
