A few words about the songs I’ve played.
The first piece is known as Jeux interdit, Romanza, Romance de Amor, Melodie de Sor, Spanish Romance, etc. It is the best known guitar piece in the world. In reality the precise attribution of the piece is controversial. It became famous thanks to the interpretation of M° Narciso Yepez who played it as part of the soundtrack of the 1952 film Jeux Interdit (Forbidden Games) by the French director Renè Clement who won the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival even if already in 1941 the song was part of the soundtrack of the film by Rouben Mamulian: “Sangue e Arena” (Blood and Sand).
I built my own version of the song by putting together several arrangements made by the masters: Hirokazu Sato, Stepan Rak and John Freeley.

The second piece was Alba Nera. It is by the unforgettable M° Roland Dyens, an Abanera, a dance of Cuban origin that has spread over the centuries especially in Spain and is similar to the tango. Master Dyens, with one of his legendary puns, titled it in Italian "Alba Nera" (Black Down). It belongs to his collection “Les 100 de Roland”(Roland's 100), which are actually 101 pieces, for beginner and intermediate guitarists, published by Leproductionsdoz. I love it.

The last song was Penny Pincher by M° Andrew York. It belongs to his collection Six Easy Pieces published in 2017 by Seven Center Pubblishing…but it is not so easy.
It is in an odd meter sevent/eight and I love it.

Roland Dyens and Andrew York are my reference authors, both not only performers but also composers and arrangers, and with experience of Jazz and popular and folk music. My long-term project is to play all their works... be in my reach.

Last but not least thanks to Martin and the whole tonebase community for offering us this wonderful opportunity to share our passion for music and guitar.

PS. For those interested in the details of the copyrighted Romance scores I studied, please send me a private message

A little late but I've had a busy day. A big congratulations to all the other performers I enjoyed listening to all of you and thank you all for your kind comments. I was hoping to have a 'live' dry run/warm up playing at our guitar club last Wednesday but the meeting was postponed for a week so I can use last night as a warm up for my performance at the club next Wednesday.

Hertzlich danke to Martin for organising this
