  • Hello  Alenxander,

i started to review and practice ex 4 & 5 yesterday and this morning.  I believe that i am getting the groove!?? I need to clean-up the playing...  Great introduction to Flamenco.  It would be good to have a session that would decompose lets say the Tangos compas:  the parts and all the generic details of what is involved in playing a Tangos.

In the mean time, following is my first take on these two exercises.  Since we are getting to the end of the second week, i am not sure i will submit a second one.

Thanks a lot for offering your time for this workshop.

    • Michel Giroux thanks a lot for your comment! You are totally right of course, the Tangos rhythm is not an easy one and it would be much better to dive deeper into it. However I felt the need to show you some kind of flamenco rhythm that is easy to count (always regular accents) and also implements the techniques you have learned in the previous week.

in ex. 4 be careful that your hand is not going down while doing the Rasgueados. It looks like the hand is also pressing down when the fingers jump out of the hand. Focus on only doing the work with your fingers and jump out with every finger independetely from all the others.

the Alzapúa is already sounding great! It would help you a lot if you already press the Bb chord before starting the Alzapúa technique and stay with the first finger on the fifth string until you have to play the open fifth string. This will give your left hand much more stability!

      I hope this helps you!
