Dear Katarzyna,
I am doing my Masters in performance and I feel that my technique is not at par with the level of an advanced guitar student. As the famous Bass musician Victor Wooten says bad technique is a recipe for frustration and I agree because it can affect your creativity. I use the famous Brazilian classical guitarist Carlos Barbosa Lima scales and arpeggio books. I make an effort to play them everyday but have to confess that I am not consistent. What more can I do? I heard practicing the renowned Andrés Segovia edition of Twenty Studies for the guitar has been the artistic and technical cornerstone for classical guitarists. Would you recommend me to learn all 20 studies?
I am also doing a recital in a months time of Apres Un Reve by Faure with a cellist in the key of Cm. The stretches are enormous and they hurt my hands after I play through the piece once or twice? I will attach the music here. Any suggestions that you can advice me on?
