Quick learning is a skill that has enormous benefits, not least that it requires us to step up our game and learn something as methodically as we can. In this livestream, Emmanuel Sowicz will share strategies to succesfully approach last-minute learning in a variety of situations.

As an amateur, I rarely (if ever) find myself in the position of 'needing' to learn a piece by some artificial deadline. Still, I don't like spending weeks on end working on the same bit of repertoire. But I'm never sure how long I should reasonably spend on any given item. Obviously, the 'size' of a work will be an important factor here, so let's assume a piece of modest length that falls within our particular technical competence. Is there some baseline period of time that can be broadly applied? To put it differently, if 'last-minute' learning is exceptional, what Is 'normal' learning? Thanks!
