Sor Op 6 No 11

8 Dec

Gonna revisit pieces that I learned this year. Fell in love with this piece the first time I heard Park Kyuhee played. Favorite performance is the one by Alvaro Pierri.

My biggest challenge with this piece was the E Major Section where there are some really weird fingering changes. I can get them down slowly but never to tempo and I slow down the entire piece my fingers get really tired before I even hit the E Major section.  Would be really grateful if someone has good fingering choices for the E Major section to share.

  • don thanks for sharing this version of master Pierri ❤️... for the B section you can easily see which fingerings he's using and copy them, you'll get the benefit of having a super legato version!

Working on the E major section. Working on it slowly. Objective is to get it faster and smoother.

    • don That's coming along well, Don. It is a very hard section of that piece to play legato, but you are getting there!

Nora Torres-Nagel Thanks Nora! I really love this piece. A lot of Sor's studies are beautiful too. There is something Sor's music that doesn't sound to complicated for the ears and yet so pleasing about them. Good luck with your practice. I've been slacking off for whole of December. Time to start practicing again too.

    • don I love this piece too... and you are playing so well ... it does take time and yes to play slowly at first to ensure the fingering ...I have just started to revise and re-learn  ... hopefully if i have time I will add my practice diary for this piece ...
