Has anyone checked out this new composer from the. Netherlands named Karlijn Langendijk? Check her concert out at Siccas. It’s interesting and refreshing change from our usual stuff we play.

joosje thanks , I ordered a few of her pieces from her website and have the one entitled “Winter” under my fingers. It requires a capo at 7th fret and playing the bass notes with thumb technique is something to learn but it’s not that hard if the E is positioned with capo close to edge. The rhythm is fascinating and fun.

I saw Daniela Rossi live and she is a super impressive and inspiring player. She has an album coming out soon I think!

I think Emre Sabuncuoglu deserves more attention given the tremendous work he is doing transcribing many classical repertoire pieces to the CG. Here is one example among many (including the complete transcription of Vivaldi's Four Seasons):

Cristina Galietto. The New York City Classical Guitar Society is proud to have presented Cristina's New York debut this November 2023. A native of Naples, Italy, Cristina is the 2021 winner of the Eurostrings competition, as well as several other European competitions. She has some of the best dynamic control I have ever heard. She plays powerfully and delicately...sometimes at the same time in separate voices
in the same phrase! She always plays passionately. This link (1st movement Allegro from Turina's Op. 61) is from her performance this month (December 2023) In Lake Oswego, Oregon that kicked off the US International Guitar Series.

Jeffrey Wilt Wow, what a performance! She moves seamlessly between powerful intensity and gentle lyricism. She is definitely one to look for, hopefully for decades to come.

Bartolomé Díaz Sahagún, Director de Cultura, Universidad Metropolitana UNIMET, Caracas, Venezuela. Maestro Diaz is an amazing Venezuelan guitarist who studied with both Antonio Lauro and Abel Carlevaro. He is not the traditional guitarist; in that he rarely performs solo but performs with an small ensemble called El Taller de los Juglares. I am attaching three videos so you can get the range of his playing.

I recently came across this player on FB - Luis Leite. For me his playing is absolutely wonderful in tone and technique, and he conveys a real sense of freedom. His repertoire is pretty varied, from Bach to modern Brazilian music, but he also writes some of his own stuff. I’m going to share here a video of him playing one of his original compositions, which is gorgeous and uplifitng.
