This will be an interactive Livestream, so let me attach all the info needed for this exciting new tonebase LIVE format!

What do I need?

We are going to use ZOOM for the interactive part of Livestream (the same piece of software that we have been using for the Virtual Hangouts). While it is not necessary to download the software, I would recommend it as it runs more stable as the browser version. In order to have the best audio quality, you can activate the option

Preserve Original Sound, here you find the documentation on how to activate that.

It's best to prepare for that lesson to get the most out of it in the interactive part! So listen to some of our fantastic release on

How does this take place?

  1. Simply watch the Livestream at the time indicated in the Live Calender!
  2. At the end of the approx. 25-35min Livestream, I will share a ZOOM Link in the Chat. Click on that link, it will take you to our ZOOM Cohort Based Course
  3. In the Zoom Call, we will get into greater depth about challenging passages of that piece, we can discuss certain fingering possibilities TOGETHER and YOU can get a full masterclass experience if you decide to take part with audio and video (not necessarily needed, more on that below)!

If nobody else wants I would love to participate! I would like to improve some aspects of Cadiz . Especially tips on improving a couple of passages: the legato in the bars 10 and 11 and the chord progression in bar 34. If someone who has not had one of these wonderful opportunities wants I would give my place as I have had 3 already

If there is still space available I would like to participate in this masterclass. I would (try to) present Mendelsohnn's op. 19b.6 Venetian Gondola Song - Tarrega's transcription. I would probably focus on the final section with the harmonics.

Martin Here is the score for the Mendelsohnn op. 19.6

BTW I tested positive for Covid yesterday and am feeling somewhat sick, though not as bad as last night. After I wake a bit more I'll see how I'm doing. If there's someone else in line that would be fine with me.

I must also be tentative for the concert tomorrow. Thanks.

    • Jack Stewart Sorry to hear that, Jack, but I'm glad you're not feeling too sick. I had a positive test on Sunday, so I've been home all week from work.

Thanks for the score, I'll check it out.

And, I think if you play tomorrow, you should have to wear a mask. 🙂

Eric Phillips I thought about that. I wouldn't want anyone to get virtual Covid fro. me.

I'm sorry to hear you got it too. Last night was pretty bad (like a bad head cold) but I seem to be doing better this morning. A bit foggy headed - but that is pretty normal.

    • Jack Stewart I got it a year-and-a-half ago, pre-vaccine, and it was really awful. This time it has been more like a cold.

I hope you continue getting better. I'd offer to bring you food, but you live too far away. This picture will have to suffice.

  • what is the difference between an interactive masterclass as opposed to virtual masterclass? Does it mean that the player will have to play live via zoom and get instant feedback?
