Week 4: Resurrected Rhythms: Celebrating Revived Pieces!
Welcome to the Main Thread for the last week of "Unfinished Business" practice challenge!
- Choose an piece that you have started to practice but never fully commited to finish. It could be a an iconic masterpiece, a technical challenge, a sweet little miniature or a piece that you played a long time ago and always wanted to refresh! You're encouraged to experiment with pieces from composers you're not accustomed to or push your boundaries with a technically demanding work.
- Commit to regular practice and share your journey with the community. Aim to practice daily and upload at least two videos per week to showcase your progress. This will not only aid in keeping you dedicated and motivated but also enables you to share your musical journey with our tonebase family.
- Share your favorite piece or recording that you always wanted to learnm but is still "unfinished business". Your submission will serve as inspiration for others and construct a vibrant repertoire of potential pieces for fellow members to explore.

Here is Vals #8 and Melodico ending. I was rushing to get this one done and posted; so sorry for the silly mistakes. My goal was to work on all the Valses in this set to establish a base to improve upon. In retrospect, it was a little too much in this short period, since not enough time spent on each one. However, I don't regret doing this project, since I've at least learned most of the notes, etc for each one.

Barney What a marvelous challenge. This melody is one of my favorites! Now you have the “bird’s eye view,” and can zoom in and craft each poem just as you like. An excellent start—already lovely!

Marilyn Blodget Thanks Mariyln! I was hesitant to post these videos, as they are a long way from being ready and what I want from them. However, the idea was to get all of them at least started, and I appreciate the encouragement.

Barney I’m totally with you! I find just starting a new piece and getting it under my fingers requires pushing through an invisible barrier. Once that’s done it’s much easier to return.

Barney You have done an incredible accomplishment getting all 8 Waltzes under your fingers at such a high level of performance. I can't imagine getting eve one under my fingers in this amount of time. Bravo!!

I am late to post to this topic. Here is today's recording of Bumblebee by Emilio Pujol. I found p-i-a-i to be the easiest for me. I do recommend watching maestro Rene Izquierdo's class where he advises on practicing different right hand combinations for this etude: triplets - pim, pia, pma, and then pimi, piai, pmam, piam, pmai.
