Ok here's my today's take on Study #3... again harder than the previous ones and also more mistakes... like a low E coming in for nothing and a rough end... but that's life! 😂

I just got the CM4 microphones and decided to try another take of #1 with my new setup.  They really do make a difference in sound quality and it's fun experimenting with mic placement based on Martin's livestreams and learning how to use reaper.

It's always interesting to revisit a piece after a break.  I'm more comfortable with it now so I was able to increase the tempo a bit.    Working on #3, but that's going to take probably all week...

Thanks Eric.  Trip was successful, but a bit hard having the first one leave the nest.  Nice to have the challenge this week for something to focus on!

Brett Gilbert hey what a sound improvement and confidence in your playing. That's inspiring to see your progress in both playing and recording, you're more than on the right track, congrats!!

Thanks Blaise!  Those tiny mics really are something, certainly worth the wait.  Based on the livestream recommendations I'm using ORTF for now, although I experimented with XY placement  These will be so useful for piano as well (that challenge starts this week).

Brett Gilbert And here we are, awesome! First of all, wonderful performance, I highly enjoyed the joyful approach! Second, you gotta love those tiny mics, haha! I'm looking forward where those bad boys will get you, I still use my Line Audios on a lot of recordings!

david robinson Fantastic! Did you get some inspiration from yesterday's class with Marina and the "hidden melody" of this Rock Ballad? 💪🐈

Martin Thank you! I did get inspiration and valuable insight into this study as well as #4, 5, and #7. Marina was very useful for understanding what the composer wants, and his melodic process. Yay Tonebase!
