Hey everyone! What are your favorite etudes from this cycle (Op. 35)?

 

I'd love for you to go on an exploratory journey, but I thought I'd also share with you some of my own ideas!


Check out these suggested tracks I came up with:

By difficulty:

  • Easy: 1, 2, 4, 7, 9

  • Medium: 2, 7, 13, 16, 17

  • Advanced: 11, 16, 18, 22, 24

By technique:

  • Arpeggio: 1, 7, 9, 13, 20, 23

  • Dotted rhythm 3, 14, 16

  • Polyphony 1, 2, 17, 18

  • Thirds and sixths: 5, 6, 12, 15, 21

Bonus:

  • My personal favorites: 1, 2, 4, 11, 13, 16, 17, 22, 24

    They are numbers from which opuses? Op. 29 or op. 35? Study No 17 is in both...

  • I love No. 13 (although Op. 31 No 2 is my real Sor favorite - wish there were a video lesson on it) - I used to practice some of these from a Noad anthology (100 Graded...Studies) many years ago, and it's great to get reacquainted, and learn new ones. The video lessons are very helpful for interpretation so I guess I'll start with those
