Hey everyone, have you heard the news?
Steve Goss will be back with another lecture-workshop this week!

We are going to be using this very thread to gather suggestions about things he might want to touch on, and offer you a chance to ask him your own questions!
- What questions do you have for Steve?
- Anything related to this topic that you would particularly like him to comment on?
Here is Steve's official event description:
"Evolution not revolution, binary not ternary." Adolf Marx was the first to use the term 'sonata form' as late as 1845 and even then in a largely unhelpful way. Was sonata form invented, or did it evolve? Prof. Goss traces the gradual development of binary, rounded binary, and ternary forms into what became known as sonata form through some well-known examples from the guitar repertoire. The examples will include some or all of the following: Scarlatti, Paganini, Giuliani, Ponce, Jose, Ginastera, Henze, and Brouwer.

If anyone's interested in further info on sonatas, although not for guitar, here's Glenn Gould with an almost understandable discussion on the subject, but perhaps ever so slightly shying away from the level of comprehensibility those such as ourselves might require to actually make practical utilisation of the knowledge contained therein
