I would like to say thank you to Tonebase and Ashley (Ash) for running this composition challenge, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I also want to thank all the fellow composers and guitarists, it's awesome to see all the ideas and discussions running here. Last week has been very busy for me and I was not in a mental state to complete my assignment, so there is two sketches for this week. My goal with this challenge was to compose, score, record and film one sketch for each of the four weeks and I think I finally was able to completed the cycle!

Roni Glaser thanks Roni. Instead of a lullaby I opted for a kind of Nocturne based on my initial ideas of the first week.

Blaise Laflamme These are spectacular, Blaise! Nocturnis Gravis is very simple and calming, reminding me a bit of Farewell by Assad. Toccatina Chromati blew me away! If you told me that was one of Brouwer's Etudes, I would believe it completely. I've got that one saved to my music files. Very well played, too!

Eric thank you! that was the goal to create sketches in different styles based on the initial material I had in mind. And Haha! you're right the Toccatina was deliberately built in Brouwer's style, to be fun to play only the «guitar» :P

Blaise Laflamme that nocturne is short and sweet, i just absolutely love the richness even in it's simplicity. you've got some really cool ideas going on here and i love that you're keeping the pieces pretty short and extremely concentrated; the sign of a good sense of balance and coherence! Great work!

Ashley (Ash) Lucero thank you for the comments! I like the way three voices harmonisation can lead to ambivalent and less coloured chords, somehow more spacey. That was my goal to have those sketches under a minute and created out of my initial material using different approaches. Also thank you for giving me the opportunity to explore the pleasure of writing music again :)

Marek Tabisz thank you... a little messy since I mostly practice the piece while recording, but overall I'm happy to have been able to out in practice what we learned from the scoring livestream and the recording course. A lot to learn in a short time!

Blaise Laflamme I definitely need more time to prepare a piece for recording (even my own one!) And at the end of our Composition Challenge, the renovation team came into my bathroom - how to play something!? Not to mention recording!

Blaise Laflamme You are a very accomplished player! Wonderful pieces! I especially liked your Toccatina Chromati. Were you inspired by Roland Dyens and his Libra Sonatine?

Philip Thank you for the kind comment! I love playing music on the guitar, I'm happy I finally got back to it after too many years far away from music. I love the Libra Sonatine and could unintentionally be inspired by it, like his Saudade #3, but I would say mostly Carlevaro, I'm reading through his 5 Preludios Americanos, and Brouwer's first 10 studies.

Emma Thank you! Hard to say... all four sketches are experimentation based on the initial ideas and material I thought out during the first stream. Each stream provided me the approach to use for the «Sketch of the Week»
