Expressive practice with Phil Goldenberg

Often our time in the practice room is dominated by correcting wrong notes, metronome practice and technical work. Just as important as all of that is our expression and musicality, although it can be tricky to figure out how to work on that concretely. In this livestream we'll be diving into how to make the most out of every musical gesture and how to make sure it connects with an audience every time.

Forum Assignment

Pick a spot in one of your pieces that is rich in musical gestures (dynamics, rubato, tempo changes, color changes, etc) and share it with the group. Try to make the most out of every expressive gesture, and check out other peoples videos for inspiration.
