Jonathan Bolivar: Let's Play Latin American Rhythms
I am super excited to welcome Vienna-based, Staatsoper-Approved, Venezuelan guitarist Jonathan Bolivar to give us an introduction into Latin American Rhythms! With over 20 different countries and a gazillion of different rhythms, we aim to give you an overview over the most important rhythms to help you play them authentic and recognize them! Let's Play some rhythms! 
Jonathan plays regularly in some of the most important opera and concert halls like the Wiener Staatsoper, the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the Bavarian Staatsoper in Munich and the Wiener Konzert Verein. Together with star tenor Juan Diego Flórez, he recorded the Album "Bésame Mucho" for SONY Classical, for which he acted as a guitarist, arranger and producer.

Sorry, hadn’t finished, I would like to understand the different rhythm types, how to count them, look at the syncopated aspects, and the more common chord progressions and melody. Any of these topics would be great thanks!

Great experience! Jonathan and Martin were great! Just to make an annotation: 'South America' is a geographic expression, and 'Latin America' have a cultural mean, that embraces all countries that speak laguages derives from Latin, mainly spanish and portuguese. Guiana and Suriname are South American countries, but not Latin American countries, because they speak english and dutch, respectively. Regards!

Dear Jonathan and tonebase friends, Thank you very much for this approach to Latin American music. I would like to know if it is possible to make a document where different Latin American rhythms can be observed in works for solo guitar. For example, the different styles of tango, chacarera, malambo, cueca, waltz, bolero, son, milongas, montunos, joropos, guaranias, etc. used by great composers such as Piazzolla, Ginastera, Lauro, Brouwer, Barrios, Villa-Lobos, Montaña, etc. It would be an excellent help to be closer to a Latin American stylistic interpretation.
