Week 3 - Tears of Joy 🎉

Final week of the Lágrima Challenge. Time to put it all together and play it through, from the first notes to the Da Capo. 🎉

We close out with a Watch Party on Friday November 6, 5pm CET, so post your performance video here to be featured: a single phrase, one half, or the whole piece, rough edges welcome. 🎥

Still working through the Lágrima Track? Post where you've got to. Every bar counts.

One last question: what can you do now that you couldn't do three weeks ago?

I have not had as much time to work on my Lagrima variations as I would have liked recently. This is where it sits right now.

Very good indeed Eric! Love the harmonics at the end

This is really nice, Eric. I agree with Ron; the harmonics are a great touch.

Thanks, Ron and Steve. I do wonder if the harmonics section at the end cuts a little too close to Tarrega's original. That said, I think Britten's Nocturnal does something pretty similar at the end as well (not that I would ever put myself within a thousand light years of Benjamin Britten).

Just my lay interpretation, but I think that the theme is clear, but the mood is very different, so it would be a good way to bookend a variety of variations. Nocturnal is a great example, and so is Lennox Berkeley's variations.

Your variations are really well done, Eric. As is your performance. Definitely keep going and perhaps considering having it published. Great work!

The last time I played this piece was decades ago.  The beauty of Tarrega's works never get old.

Just before recording this, the "D" string on my guitar broke. Perhaps my guitar was telling me I waited too long to play this piece again, haha.

Very nice Barney! I can tell it's been under your fingers for a long time!

Thanks Ron!  The new replacement D string was only on for about an hour,  which caused more squeaks than usual on that 4th string  (not good for Lagrima).
