  • Wow! I loved this lesson and new format! It was so great to hear two perspectives from two very highly qualified guitarists and musicians. I could not watch it live, but watched the recording (and will do so several times again, probably).

I have never played the piece before, but now I can't wait to dig into it. Could I somehow work this into the 19th century challenge with Hannah Murphy? 🙂

BTW, playing the Fmaj7 chord (measure 8) in the standard way is very hard for me too. I have always struggled with squeezing three fingers into one fret, and I almost always use an alternative when it occurs. I must say, though, I find it relatively easy to play it with a third-finger barre (mini bar?) covering strings 2 through 4. I am able to get the open first string to ring without too much difficulty. I find it far easier than using a second finger barre like you did. Take that for what it's worth. More evidence that no two hands are the same.

Thanks so much for doing this and I look forward to more of it!
