Eric, that's terrific! I haven't watched Emmanuel's livestream on it, but I recently heard a 2019 recording by Raphael Feuillatre (2018 GFA winner) which is worth listening too. I agree with Blaise - you should definitely play this at the concert!

Here's another update. I'm not sure it's any better, but I did put in more practice.
I made a few small changes:
- At the end of the A section (measure 15 and its repeat in the very last measure of the piece), I simplified the D major chord by taking out the note A on the third string. It not only makes it easier for me to play, but I actually like it a bit better musically as it lightens the texture of the chord, which I think works well on a cadence.
- At the end of the B section, I simplified the final chord so I could make the melody leading into it a bit more legato. I think it works better, again, both technically and musically.
- In the C section, measures 41 and 42 call for a six note E7 chord. Again, I'm simplifying it, mainly because I could not make a full strum of all six strings to sound very good.

Eric Phillips That was beautiful! Not knowing this piece in detail I didn't recognize any of the changes, but Marco told me getting rid of some notes is - while being somewhat of a last resort - a valid tool if it helps! Your performance really had a lot of emotion, so it is definitely worth it!

Eric Phillips Hello Mr Metronome!! Such a good job keeping in time with the metronome and dedicated practice! I usually start at a very slow tempo and then ramp it up bit by bit, that way I don't feel like the metronome wants to push me over a cliff
