We proudly present the Dress Rehearsal for the tonebase community concert! 🎉🥳🚀 The stage is all yours and with this private livestream we get acquainted with our virtual concert hall!

Answer via a reply to this thread in order to reserve a spot with the piece and its approx. duration. The choice of repertoire is totally up to you! You want to play an etude from some of the last community challenges? A piece you've recently worked on for an interactive class? Or something completely different? Let us know!

What do I need?

We are going to use ZOOM (←click to download) for the tonebase Community Concert. In order to have the best audio quality, you can activate the option to Preserve Original Sound, here you find the documentation on how to activate that. It's best to use headphones with when the Original Audio Option is enabled.

I would close the Programm for the Dress Rehearsal now! As I know that some of you don't have time on Dec 4th, new Spots will open up and we will have more community concerts anyway! 🌊

Everybody can participate in the Dress Rehearsal, even if you don't play at the Dress Rehearsal or the Concert, you can simply hang with us and enjoy wonderful music by your fellow tonebase members 🚀

  Eric Phillips If you want to activate the option for original sound, you should download ZOOM, but you can also simply take part as if it was an Interactive Class! I will start with a quick introduction and then I will share a link in the chat of the livestream!
  
  If you decide to download Zoom for your Laptop, these are the necessary steps:
  
  Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
  
  Click your profile picture, then click Settings .
  
  In the navigation menu, click Audio .
  
  Under Music and Professional Audio, select the Show in-meeting option to enable "Original Sound" check box.
  The Original Sound setting will be displayed in in the top left corner of your meetings .
  
  (Optional) Select the High fidelity music mode check box.
  
  (Optional) Select the Echo cancellation check box.
  
  (Optional) Select the Stereo audio check box.
  
  I will explain that in detail again in the livestream as well, but it shouldn't cause you any problems!

  Martin If we are downloading Zoom on our laptop and following the steps to set up for good sound as you indicate, how will we sign in to the meeting? Will you send us the "meeting ID"? Is there anything else when signing in that has to be checked off?

  Even if Zoom is already open, the link will prompt you to the meeting! We will do it exactly as we've done it multiple times for the Interactive Classes!

  If so, how? Reaper will not be part of the process, right? So how would the left and right microphones be balanced?

  Barney Yes, that's possible! All the balancing would be done simply by the Gain Setting of your Interface, Reaper is not part of this signal chain!

  Martin So I would set the left and right gain knobs on the interface equally, but would not get stereo, right? Would the sound be clear, or would there a fuzzy unbalanced doubling ghosting effect?

  Does the Apollo Twin X have a good built in plug-in for Reverb that sounds good for Classical guitar? I'm using a basic Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that does not have that capability...

It looks like we're in the same timezone, I'm near Montreal in Quebec - Canada. There are a few plate or room reverbs for UAD, what I'll want to try is a Unison preamp to apply in realtime and see how it sounds!

Martin I was looking forward to the Dress Rehearsal but lately, it turns out that I might have another appointment overlapping the Dress Rehearsal. So I have to change my RVSP from Going to Maybe. As soon I have my schedule confirmed, I will update my response to the Rehearsal. Cheers! :)
