We proudly present the next tonebase Community Concert! 
Again, the stage is all yours! In this interactive Livestream, we want to organize a virtual get-together where you can perform pieces for each other that you have been working on!
Answer via a reply to this thread in order to reserve a spot with the piece and its approx. duration. The choice of repertoire is totally up to you! You want to play an etude from some of the last community challenges? A piece you've recently worked on for an interactive class? Or something completely different? Let us know!

What do I need?
We are going to use ZOOM (←click to download) for the tonebase Community Concert. In order to have the best audio quality, you can activate the option to Preserve Original Sound, here you find the documentation on how to activate that. It's best to use headphones with when the Original Audio Option is enabled.

I don't know if I will be able to have a piece ready to perform by then. I will in Joshua Tree National Park for 4 days at the first of the month so I won't be able to attend the dress rehearsal. If I can decide closer to the date, then we'll see.

Jack Stewart Just keep us updated, at the moment the Dress Rehearsal isn't filled up with spots yet, let me add you to the waiting list on the Dress Rehearsal so that we don't forget about it! How's your Allemande going?

Martin Thanks Martin, I will certainly keep you updated. I know I won't be able to attend the Dress Rehearsal, but I will have about 4 days after I get back before the Concert - so maybe I can get comfortable with something by then. My performances are so bad that I feel I really have to have the piece down to try a performance.
The Allemande is getting close. Thanks for your help on it. I am trying to get the fingering down on the final trill (I'm an old dog and that is a new trick
). I hope to have a video within the next couple of days. BTW, I listened to my performance during your Masterclass (that was soooo painful) and my sound was horrible. I believe I had original sound on, at least it indicated on the screen. Perhaps I should use my USB mic (Apogee Mic+). Any suggestions?

Jack Stewart Original Audio works best when you use it with headphones, because there is still an echo-cancellation being applied that might be triggered. That being said, the Apogee Mic will most certainly result in a better sound quality!
And don't be to hard on yourself, I enjoyed working with you and I hope that you learned something on that day! I particularly enjoyed that fancy ornament at the end of the first part! Another advantage of using an additional p in there: the sound is less scratchy than with ami since you have a much lower angle on the string!

I would like to attend as player if the roster isn't yet filled. I would like to play Albeniz Asturias if possible. I don't see that there's a time limit; Asturias is about 6-7 minutes.

Dave Hi Dave, this is the Event for the Community Concert, I'd recommend participating in the Dress Rehearsal on April 2nd first, since I will prioritize those who participate in both activities! If you can't participate, I will put you on the waiting list for April 9th, right now it doesn't look like we're fully booked!

Martin Sure dress rehearsal on 4/2 is fine. I'm sorry I misunderstood - I thought if we signed up, we'd be required to do dress also anyway. How do I sign up for the dress reherasal and what time of day (EDT) is it?

I like the idea but am afraid its for advanced to high intermediate players with experience in performing. Its not for just beginners who have not performed on that level or on a stage platform

peter hancock Hi Peter, we specifically introduced this opportunity to practice performing in front of people, this does in no way exclude beginners who have never performed on stage before!
This event won't be livestreamed nor recorded, this will happen entirely among the nicest and most welcoming tonebase community members! I'd recommend to take that opportunity as often as possible no matter your level!

Martin, I would like to participate in concert with Mompou, Prelude (and maybe Cuna) from the Suite Compostelana. It’s musically demanding, to play it in public is a challenge. Pity there’s no place left in the rehearsal. So, maybe I’d better sign up for the next concert. Is there a date for that one already?

joosje Hi Joosje, if you want to, I can put you on the waiting list for the community concert on April 9th, we have some people who only want to participate in the dress rehearsal!
Next Dress Rehearsal is planned for May 7th and Concert on May 21st!

Martin if I understand it correctly, the dress rehearsal is just another concert and not an actual rehearsal for the upcoming concert?

joosje I try to give everyone who participates in the Dress Rehearsal the possibility to play again in the concert two weeks afterwards as the first performance usually reveals some insights into their own playing. Then they continue to work on these for two weeks and see the improvement in the concert
